I only take classes that peak my interests, like photography, unfortunately, I can't remember how to develop my own film anymore.

I had a kind of had a rough patch as well. (Thinking you can pass the class with high school tactics I.E Showing up thinking you can get a suitable grade) is not a good idea. However I did manage a 3.0 since I withdrew from two of my classes.

My first college semester, I got a second degree burn on my leg.

My second college semester, I got hit by a pickup truck.

My third college semester, I fell out of a second story window.

... I hope your college semesters go better than mine.

Well, I'm not very social so it took me two weeks before I got friends.

As for the schoolwork, I was pretty surprised because our professors didn't actually teach. I was expecting them to be great ones - you know, the strict types who were stern and demanding but taught very well and took their job seriously, considering that they belong in a pretty well-known university (in asia). But no, they were laid back and talked about their own lives and family in class while expecting you to learn on your own and pass their damn exams. For the first time, I had to do some ACTUAL studying and pull all-nighters.

Unfortunately, my friends failed a class and so we ended up in different sections (we use a block system where students who fail a class or two end up together in lower sections, those who fail 3 classes or more get kicked out and those who don't move up to higher sections). Man, I am not happy with the current semester.

During my first year in college, I was a total nerd (I had to even though I hated it because the pressure of seeing the rest of them not leaving their books on their sight. What choice would you have?) First semester was like hell to me. Stern and Strict professors and new people. I even thought of travelling across the ocean just to get home. But now, everything seems to be free and easy. I met friends and I adjusted to my new environment. I don't mean to brag but I still got awesome grades despite my laziness. Can't believe there's only few months left before I graduate. Oh time flies so fast.

Unsanitary flat mates, a few hours of sleep per week, no social life, and a plethora of assignments that account for the majority of the grade hanging over my head like a guillotine. That was the first. The second has proven to be milder and not as detracting to my health. GPA is still afloat at an acceptable number.

^ Agreed.

My only worry was that teachers desperately wanted me to choose my major.
That's not an easy decision and it caused me a lot of anxiety.
But one of my teachers told me it didn't really need to be chosen the first year.
Just take classes that seem interesting and find something you like.
Now, I'm going for a double major and a minor.
It seems like my first semester was so long ago even though I started college in 2011.

Yea most of my stress really came from choosing a major. I ended up deciding on majoring in electrical engineering.

Sounds interesting, but complicated.
Good luck!

I'm doing a major in Human Services and Psychology with a minor in Sociology.

Yea i know
I mean I'm into tech, so that's why I chose electrical engineering, but I've been thinking about it and I always end up telling my self, will I be happy doing this? To be honest, i don't know whether i'll be. Another factor as to why I chose it was the starting salary, but honestly I've been thinking, I rather be happy so maybe I should change my major.
How did you settle on your major?

making friends isn't like in high school. They are more like in their own world. I just hang out outside school with friends I know and just one new friend, but the rest are just for having a conversation. We have more responsibility and freedom to choose what classes we want. Actually, I failed 2 courses at the first semester and next one the same two courses I try to avoid choosing the same teacher hahaxD Now I'm on my second year.

I'm not 100% set on mine either.
Even though most people think that I am. Haha.
I took a WIDE variety of classes to pick my major.
Psychology and Sociology are things I am interested in.
But one by themselves won't do me any good.
One problem I have is that I don't want to be a psychologist..

Yeah! Optimism! Haha.
I think that it will be fine in the end. We are still young.
There is time to change your mind.
Classes taken are knowledge gained either way.
It is tough deciding what you want to do for the rest of your life.
I have found it easier to find things that I do not want to do.
