suikojay wrote: Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide Hmm, in the beginning scenes of ep 1, I'm not quite convinced that it's a series of deaths she experiences on the various routes. I think the scene about the boat incident is a death scene from a future event - there's no denying that as the scenes are basically the same, but I'm not quite convinced about the brief scene with the moon, being peered thru the water, as being an indication of a future death event of her being thrown off the roof. Reason being when u go back to the roof scene in ep 10, u don't actually see a clip of the moon when the heroine gets dropped - u just see her falling to her doom. U do see bits and pieces of the moon while Ukyo is still carrying her in his hand, but that's about it. U never see that big, clear pic of the moon that u see back in ep 1. I guess I kind of expect them to use exact, or extremely close to exact pics/scenes when they do foreshadowed events, at least in this anime anyway since it seems that they actually do use exact pics and/or scenes when a foreshadowed vision/memory does take place in a later ep. Here are some examples: one of them being at the end of ep 1, where the heroine gets approached by those Ikki-san fan-girls, and the heroine foresees her own hair getting cut exactly like what happens at the end of ep 8 (during Toma's Route). In ep 2, we see a foreshadowing vision of Shin saying "I killed a man" - of course the heroine misinterpreted Shin's words which we find out during Shin's route. Also, in ep 2, we see the foreshadowing vision of Kento taking the heroine to the festival which does happen during ep 7 (during Kento's route). It seems like they have a foreshadowing vision for all the guys except Ikki??? I'm sure there is one, but I can't seem to remember. Unless the foreshadowing vision that links to Ikki's route is supposed to be her falling off the boat in the beginning scenes of ep 1. Anyway, It seems like she had all those visions before she even began her 1st route (Shin's route). I wonder if that's supposed to mean anything. Do u or anyone else remember her having any other foreshadowing visions before Shin's route? I think all those foreshadowing visions took place in ep 1 & 2 (1 for each of the routes - I think). I think the fangirls cutting her hair is the premonition for Ikki's route. Perhaps the big, clear moon is a death she's yet to experience? But I don't think she was looking at it through water, and it certainly seemed like the view she might have from the hospital roof (except for Ukyo standing in front of it I guess). But you know - you really shouldn't pose such questions to a nit-picker - I shall now have to go and rewatch too darn much of the series, and as hpulley says, it's not really a show that necessarily deserves rewatching :s. What I find strange is that technically she's still totally suffering from amnesia - all her visions have been within the 4 days she's been reliving - has an interaction led her to actually have a flashback even once - say to a childhood memory with Shin and Toma? (episode 10 doesn't count IMO, as it was just an animation of the words written in the diary - it didn't seem like she was physically reliving the memories). shaunj07 wrote: Spoiler Alert! imiami wrote: Argh!! Kent's bad end?? That is indeed salt in the wound! Fitzgerald I think you need to tell all us Kent fans what the good ends are in his route because it seems unlikely we'll see him again now :(. Kent had the least drama on his route and it's mostly him being adorable and learning to be a proper boyfriend. Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide The good end is that the heroine gets into another car accident, Kent ditches his presentation which can land him an overseas study opportunity just to stay by her side. In the end, they decide to go together overseas. I also think he asks her to marry him. imiami Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide so I'm guessing that makes green-hair the True route? I've read some stuff about him, but couldn't piece it all together, so looking forward to the revelation! Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide Yep, Ukyo is the canon boyfriend of the game and he really has the best story out of all of them combined. His route is infamous for making people cry. Honestly, he's the only reason I'm watching the anime. suikojay wrote: Spoiler Alert! On the subject of the 'visions' in Episode 1 and 2, my interpretations are: Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide Burning building = Same event as the one shown in EP10, only this time we're given a clearer picture of what happened. So far this is the only event unaccounted for. This would probably be an important clue, given that the anime starts with it and replays it again in EP10. Falling in the water = Same event as Ikki's bad end. I don't know why Orion seems to be missing though. Must be for artistic purposes. Shin's world vision = "I killed a man" in EP02. Ikki's world vision = Parfait making scene in EP01. Kent's world vision = Festival scene in EP02. Toma's world vision = Hair cutting scene in EP01. suikojay wrote: Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide Hmm, yeah that's certainly a reasonable interpretation. Another thing that kinda makes me think there's another Ukyo running around is because of what happened at the 12:15 mark in ep 10 where the heroine runs into Ukyo. The conversation starts with Ukyo saying that he's glad to see her. But the heroine responds with a shocked/scared look, and she starts to run away after Orion tells her to run. Then Ukyo tells her to wait, and then he says something that I found peculiar, "Did he do something again?" My question is, who is "he"? I think he's either referring to Toma (since his route was the one she was previously on) or he's referring to some other person whom he knows is hurting her, or trying to hurt her. The only other candidates that I can imagine would be himself (with a possibly split personality) or an evil twin. I can't honestly think of any other guy that would try to hurt her. Also, u made a good point about Ukyo also dimension hopping. Now if that's true, which I think most likely is, then what happens to the Ukyo that's originally from the parallel worlds? I think if there is another Ukyo that's in those parallel worlds, I think THAT'S the evil twin, while the one who's dimension hopping and keeps saving her is the good Ukyo from the heroine's own world. But who knows, lol. It's an anime, and it doesn't always have to make sense, right? I mean, there's still the question of why aren't there 2 heroines in every parallel world. You would think there would be since the original heroine from her own world is dimension hopping to all these other worlds. Either way, I'm looking forward to the last couple eps! Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide That's really a very good observation, especially the 'he' part and 'Ukyo's' fate in the other worlds. I'd say that your questions will be answered by the end of the anime, hopefully. I'm also convinced that there are two Ukyo's (either as you said split personality or twins) because the gap in their behavior is too far. One is obviously insane, murderous and has no problems invading her personal space (as seen in Toma's route). The other on the other hand, is kind, gentle and almost always maintains a respectable distance from her (his appearances in Shin, Ikki's and his own route). I felt bad when he kept apologizing whenever he so much as touches her. On the subject of the heroine, it seems that it's her consciousness that gets transferred in between worlds so she kind of mind crashes into the other heroines. With that said, I never liked Toma but I feel legitimately bad for him the moment he finds out his not girlfriend was tossed of a building. At least Shin, Kent and Ikki's heroine's fate was ambiguous. There's no way anyone can survive that fall. Anyway, I noticed Orion actually appeared right from the start to the end. Hopefully he won't disappear again next episode. |

It got better with episode 10...that's an accomplishment
also just to say, when I first watched Amnesia whenever it first premiered, I seriously thought it had something to do with Alice and Wonderland (probably had something to do with all the card suits - diamonds, spades, clubs, hearts) and would be a more fantasy based show lol |

Click to show or hide I agr... I mean, I concur (too many people agreeing here, lol) about the burning clock tower being an important clue. I can only guess that this is where Orion may have bumped into her spirit causing perhaps her "consciousness" or her spirit/soul to transfer into the heroines of the other parallel worlds. I faintly remember that parfait making scene in ep 1 so I think I'll have to go back and re-watch that scene and compare it to how the scene looks during Ikki's route. I imagine it'll basically look the same like all the other foreshadowed visions that came to pass in later eps. Anyway, I noticed Orion actually appeared right from the start to the end. Hopefully he won't disappear again next episode. Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide I don't think he'll disappear - it'll be a twist if he turns out to be in cahoots with the evil Ukyo's of the other worlds! But seriously, I'm thinking the evil Ukyos of the alternate worlds are just jealous that they don't get the heroine so that's prolly why they have no problem hurting/killing her. In Toma's route, just before he drops her, I believe he says that he loved her. But obviously, the heroine in that world chose Toma, and evil Ukyo couldn't accept that so he threw her off a building. There is actually another thing that bothers me, and that's how the heroine was able to transfer from Kento's route to Tomas route. I mean, she didn't really die right? I just re-watched the end scene of Kento's route and the only thing that seems to happen is a guy bumps into her! I mean does she die from merely a bump??? Or is it suppose to be assumed that after she gets bumped, she staggers/falls and get hits by a car or something? Just seems strange to me that in all the other routes, she appears to get killed. Honestly, he's the only reason I'm watching the anime. Can't wait, can't wait!! Really, since the last episode the whole thing really has taken off and now there's only 2 to go! Kent's world vision = Festival scene in EP02. Toma's world vision = Hair cutting scene in EP01. So I went back and watched them again and yup - that's all of them. Gommen Suikojay - you were right about the moon being seen through water. I wonder why, then, we only see Ikki's bad end? I realised that Amnesia is the sort of show it's worth marathon-wathcing. You see so many more of the connections. Like in those first 2 eps evil Ukyo features quite prominently and you're really sitting there going "whaaaat??". And also how her personality changes - like how at first she's totally Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide freaked out when Shin tries to kiss her in the music room and by episode 10 she's totally calm about declaring her love to a man that's had her in a very small cage! Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide That's really a very good observation, especially the 'he' part and 'Ukyo's' fate in the other worlds. Click to show or hide that the original inferno scene is what happened in Ukyo and heroine's real world, I'm thinking she dies and that Ukyo somehow started leaping into alternative realities in the hope of finding a parallel reality where their love can survive (perhaps he somehow summoned Orion for this purpose?) suikojay wrote: There is actually another thing that bothers me, and that's how the heroine was able to transfer from Kento's route to Tomas route. We were all expecting at least one more episode! You're probably right though - it seems fairly safe to assume she got run over after staggering - she does seem to manage to find danger where one would think none existed! Like in the last episode when she goes and stands on the tram track to retrieve her hat - I was like 'Noooo don't do it!! Can you not learn from experience!!'. |

Lol - I was only joking about Orion really - he's probably just been brought in from the game as an amusing handle - I am trying to fit him in to the anime 'drama' in jest. However if Ukyo really did summon him he might not have done so willingly, it may have just been a side-effect of whatever he did to alter the original reality. Another thing that I find troubling is: Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide who's route (if any) was the heroine on before Shin's? Seems plucked straight out of the game - like a waiting room scene where you briefly see everyone before going on to get to know them better. Maybe the original fracture in reality though? Like swirling around in time before she settles into any reality. |

Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide Yeah, that's certainly possible. I just re-watched parts of the 1st ep again and noticed that in the beginning scenes (@ about the 3min mark), when the heroine 1st wakes up, she mutters the date August 4. In the same ep, (@ about the 8min mark), Orion talks about having been with the heroine for 4 days already (so prolly Aug. 1st was when they first somehow encountered one another in the heroine's own world - and I guess during the initial encounter, Orion hadn't "bumped" into her spirit yet... he prolly "bumped" into her spirit on August 4). So if Orion had been traveling with the heroine for 4 days already, I conclude that he knows something more about those 1st 4 days, and that the heroine MUST have still had her memories during those 4 days that they were together! I guess maybe we'll find out more in the next ep, or the last ep.About the parfait "vision" in ep 1... Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide Also, I got a chance to re-examine the "vision" of the parfait making scene in ep 1, and it's slightly different than the one in Ikki-san's route - I didn't expect that actually. In the "vision", Ikki-san talks about adding chocolate on top of the parfait, but in the scene during Ikki-san's route, there's no mention of the chocolate at all... seems a little strange to me that it's a little different... the other "visions" that the heroine had seemed more on target. |

Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide Looks like Ukyo's split personality (of some kind) has been confirmed! I love how the heroine though keeps falling for evil Ukyo! And WOOHOO!!! We're in the burning clock tower finally just like the one in the beginning scenes of ep 1 (and the flashback scene in ep 10 @ the 10:40 mark)! I had a feeling we'd end up here by the end.I still think they have a lot of explaining to do in the last ep, and hopefully they will be able to do that. I will say that I'm glad I stuck with the show, and trying to solve the mysteries behind what's been going on, with and around the heroine, with what evidences and hints we've been given, has been quite fun! |
