Love Live! School Idol Project

Preview http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=9X2xQ_ez4fgSynopsis Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide Otonokizaka High School stands on the border of three cities: Akihabara – a pop culture mecca that's evolving by the minute; Kanda – a conservative, cultured city where history and tradition reign supreme; and Jinbo – a quiet area reserved for a more mature, sophisticated population. Amidst this culture clash, the school now faces closure due to the enrollment of fewer and fewer students. With the school planning to close within three years, nine female students come together with one thing in mind—form a pop idol group to revive the school's popularity and keep it from shutting down. "In order to protect our beloved school, there's only one thing we can do...become pop stars!" Their goal is simple: Become an overnight sensation and use their nationwide media exposure to promote their school and bring in a wave of new students to the ailing area. A simple but solid plan, they figure. Naturally, they're nervous and wonder if this plan can really succeed, but for better or worse their new journey has begun...[/quote Characters & Voice Actors List Other Information Type: TV Episodes: 13 Status: Currently Airing Aired: Jan 6, 2013 to ? Producers: Sunrise, Lantis, NIS America, Inc.L Genres: Music First Impressions Not bad overall. The music and themes in the series is pretty lighthearted and reminded me a little of The Idolmaster. The main girl, Honoka is very cheerful at the school like when she skips up and down. The music was alright in the series I guess with the piano, singing etc. Anyways, not too shabby for the first episode imo. |

my mind will never allow me to stop comparing Love Live! to the greatness that is
I mean seriously, Honoka...Haruka...lolwat but I really like the music in Love Live! so far especially the one piece by the piano girl, I'll keep watching since it was a good first ep (not a great ep, just good) |

It was ok, not sure if I will carry on watching it.
Probably check episode 2 to see how it goes. I will to the 3 episode rule. Was going to do a first impressions video on this but I have done so many videos today so I may just leave it. |

I have to say up front that I'm predisposed to dislike this. I find the Idol concept creepy, plus I don't like watching shows that devolve into music videos. At the moment, I liked the first episode, but I'm not sure I'd bother with watching the whole series. Saving the school is something that has been popular lately, and I much prefer how it was handled in Tari Tari and Girls und Panzer.
Still, I enjoyed the OP and ED. Plus, you can definitely tell that the character design was from Nishida Asako. If you've seen Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko (Ground Control to Psychoelectric Girl) you'll see what I mean. It's definitely a pretty show to watch, which is essential for the Idol concept. There is a fair bit of CG mixed into the show. In some places it is done very well, like the OP, but in others, not so much, like the ED. Hopefully the CG/animation mix quality will tend to to be good rather than bad over the course of the series. Overall, I think this will pale in comparison to Tari Tari, but if you are looking for an Idol show it could be fun. |

I just watched the first 15 mins of it, and I gotta say..... this anime pushes my buttons... its not the concept of the story, its just the voice actors. Their voices are so high and whiny which is a complete turn off.

So far I am loving this! In particular the end of episode 1, which had the feel of a stage or movie musical instead of feeling like a musical number for no reason.

I'm actually happy with this show. It's improved since the first episode, the characters are good and sympathetic, the soundtrack is excellent... all in all, I enjoyed watching episode 3 quite a bit. It still reminds me a lot of Tari Tari, but this show stands on its own quite well.

Nishikino's purple eyes and Umi-chan being cute when embarrassed are the only things I need to justify to keep watching |
