What do you do when you find a lost dog or cat? Do you leave it, or try to help? If no name or address on the tag do you take it home, call animal control, or knock on each door asking if they know whos animal it is. Is what you do differ if its a cat rather than a dog? What if its really cold or warm out? Do you ask or accept a reward if you found its home? LOL what if you found a strange pet roaming lost like a pig or goat? What I would do is

Look away or give it to an asian.

I put them in a cage with the rest of the "lost" animals I've found, ready to be used as guiniepigs in my various experiments.

Keep it. I live alone at the moment. Nobody wants to be my roommate. They all live faraway from college, or their jobs, or some stupid excuse like that. I can't afford a pet - might as well steal it.

I want to keep the pet in anyway I can, but my house can't take care of them so I have to leave them outside and look away

Cry that it has no home. Or seriously, just drop the animal off at a animal shelter. I'm wary to touch lost animals because they might carry a disease or something hazardous to my health. If it's a puppy or other type of baby, I'd beg my mum to keep it.

The place where I used to live was out in the country on a hill overlooking a floodplain. Rather than take their unwanted pets to a shelter many locals opted to drive out to my neighborhood which had a dead end road down in the floodplain area and drop them off. I adopted 1 stray cat that way. He was a great mouser. Rodents never began a problem again. I kept Hank for almost 9 years when there. Great outdoor cat, terrific buddy. He'd watch my wife and I meander around the lake, act disinterested, then chase after us and race us up the hill; quite the character.

He died fighting off a big raccoon while I was out of town for a weekend. It's a crap shoot when you adopt a stray. They make great pets and they appear grateful (yes, even cats) that you made the commitment. I do wish people would spay their pets though rather than expect the rest of the community to right their error in judgement or benign betrayal via the abandonment option.

It's taken me 10 years to finally get down to a household of only 2 spayed Siamese cats. They're great company. I'm happy I can survive with only 1 cat box instead of the many. It's also nice to have a normal sedentary lifestyle rather than become a de facto harbor master for the arrival and departure times of the fleet wanting in or out. < You never, ever own a pet door out in the country unless you like strange critters inside as unwanted guests which are damn hard to catch >

I would do anything to help them return to their home if they had one. I could only imagine the emotional stress of losing a pet. If they don't have a home, I'd be more than happy to take that pet in and care for it as best I could. If I couldn't keep it, I'd take it to a shelter or offer it to someone who would take good care of it. I love pets, and I love to see them live happy lives in a healthy environment.

I feed it and give it water depending on where its at. If it has an id tag I will get it back home by using the information on the tag. I will not accept a reward for this.
