I have only posted a small amount of the article which was written by Elliot Gay over at http://www.japanator.com/. Do yourself a favor and read the whole thing before you rage.

I actually agree with Elliot and I would love to discuss his opinions and yours as well. Maybe this will serve as a form of personal catharsis for the horrid season 2. So do you agree or disagree with his points? What did you think of the series?

P.S.
I don't work for or have any affiliation with Japanator.com. I only posted some of the article because I didn't want to deprive the author of page views.

The first arc was nice, but the second arc became a chore to watch. Oh SAO updated... wouldn't watch it till two or three days later. Was in it for the long run, so I didn't want to just drop it. Maybe it's just me but after awhile the show felt like it was lacking something I still can't put my finger on.

For me it was lacking any form of tension. Once S2 started and the threat of death was removed I had no fear for any situation any character was in. So what if you die? All you lose is XP and some cash which is hardly something that makes me worry for the characters. Not to mention the lack of urgency from anyone. If your on a time limit wouldn't you try to avoid getting into everyone's business and side quest? In this show apparently not.

Care to elaborate because just saying something is bad doesn't make it bad. I would dare say that S1 was good and S2 was bad. I also agree that this show will be forgotten, not because it's necessarily bad. It will fade because anime is a consumable media that gets taken in and quickly replaced with something else.

It was interesting until episode 11. Then it started to fall from there.

I wonder how many discussion we are going to have about this. It proves that SAO moved something in your heart, whenever it was hate or love. Shows that affect people like that usually get more episodes.

I know it has a basis but SAO felt very much like a show that was given a half season to tell its story and around episode 10 got told 'guess what, we've been extended! Quick! Come up with more plot.' I think I would have enjoyed it more had I stopped when the first arc ended.

SAO has flaws, and those who aren't willing to look past them become the vocal minority for bashing SAO. It was hugely popular, and I personally loved it, even the second story arc. If it matters at all, I sort of frontloaded on all the episodes instead of watching it week by week.

One funny thing, I agree with most of the points that the guy in the original article makes, I just can't be bothered to mind them. So who knows, maybe I'm a mindless sheep of an anime fan. I'll just consider it my guilty pleasure.

I liked it, but the novels are much better.

Show tripped and lost its way a few times. I dropped it twice, especially after the fairie arc started. Only finished it because of some ANN Reviewer comment. Liked Btooom!! better.

Its was good 2nd arc wasn't as great as the first one but was still enjoyable none the less. Seems like the more something is popular these days the more people love to voice their opinions on how they dislike it, It doesn't matter to me if people like it or not I loved it but I don't feel like spamming and saying how good it is like I see from time to time. Thought it was fantastic but I've moved on, would like a season 2 sure but not gonna be butthurt if there isn't one.

I pretty much agree with all that the reviewer has written. But I wouldn't call it "junk", it's just mediocre to me. I can watch it, but it's not something I look forward to each week like Hunter x Hunter or Btoom.

And I'm out of this thread before some fanboy comes in here and start raging something along the lines of, "Don't watch it if you don't like it".

as I said multiple times, yes, the anime does have flaws. there is a lot which is cut from the story, and it's better used as a supplement to the light novels than as a standalone show. but, I still loved it. even the Fairy Dance arc.

also, the trolls constantly bashing the show, for not liking the show, they sure do talk about it a hell of a lot. and even continue to watch it. it's just hilariously dumb.

The SAO arc was good, the elf arc was boring, thus why I haven't managed to finish it yet.
