Hey everyone, lugiamania here with yet ANOTHER addition out of the left field for Crunchyroll's winter lineup!

This surprise title is none other than Little Busters!, and yes, we WILL be airing all previous episodes as well! The exact dates for the earlier 13 episodes are not yet confirmed, but we will be launching with episode 14 of Little Busters! this Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 6:00pm PST.

Little Busters! will be available to Crunchyroll's audience in the following territories: USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Netherlands & Scandinavia.

Based on a visual novel by Key, the studio behind other smash titles like Clannad, Air, and Kanon, Little Busters! features main character Riki Naoe, who was orphaned when his parents die. However, his depression is kept at bay with his group of childhood friends, who call themselves “Little Busters.” The friendships and interactions of this group of friends is the main focus of Little Busters! as they go about their daily high school lives.

The cast features Yui Horie as Riki Naoe, best known for her roles in Fruits Basket as Toru Honda and Love Hina as Naru Narusegawa, with Hikaru Midorikawa of Gundam Wing's Heero Yuy fame, as the leader of gang, Kyousuke Natsume and Tomoe Tamiyasu, who also voiced Futami Moriyama in Recorder and Randsell, as his sister, Rin Natsume.

Whats up guys,

We're kicking off another fantastic day of new simulcasts to Crunchyroll with the addition of: AKB0048:next stage!

AKB0048:next stage! will first broadcast here on Crunchyroll starting on January 13, at 7:30 am Pacific Time for premium members in the following territories: U.S., Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Finland, Denmark, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, South and Central America. As usual, free members will get it one week later.

For those that missed the first season and wanted to know what the second season's all about:
“At the start of the 21st century, an interplanetary war broke out. Earth's ecosystem was severely damaged, and humanity was forced to flee the planet. On several planets of this new society, things that ‘disturb the heart’ like music and art are forbidden.

Before the people called ‘Idols’ fell into ruin, the legendary idol group AKB48 is resurrected as the interplanetary troupe AKB0048, made up of girls who carry on the title and spirit of the original members. Held as heroines by some and labeled as terrorists by others, they must take up arms to bring their music to their fans wherever they are.”

Is the first season the open slot in the catalog titles? But if so, why not announce both at once?

I second that. Wanted to check it out because it's Shoji Kawamori and Mari Okada doing what they do best, but I didn't want to have to look for fansubs.

And here is this season's "Didn't think they would get that" winner.

This would would also fall under the "Didn't think anyone would get that" category.

Given that they state free users will get the episodes one week later, I'm betting we start with 2 episodes. In recent seasons when there was a one week delaycast, CR typically eliminated the extra week's delay for free users.

This gives me hope that we'll get the first season at some point as well.

Remember when CR got Nisemonogatari? That was before they got Bakemonogatari. AND in a news article about Aniplex releases, they even stated that there were no plans to stream Bakemonogatari.

However, we gave it a few more months...And now we have Nisemonogatari and Bakemonogatari.

I feel like this will happen with lots of multi-season titles. And my fingers are desperately crossed for Da Capo.

I assume you mean for the earlier series.

On the flipside, we have none of the earlier seasons of The Familiar of Zero.

If CR gets Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni Kaku Outbreak in the spring (and we know Funimation won't be competing for it), I don't think I'll be holding my breath that CR gets any of the earlier series, although it would certainly be nice if they did. I for one would at least like the chance to view Kai legally.

Yes, the earlier seasons.
And I mentioned Bake/Nisemonogatari specifically because Aniplex even released that there were no plans to digitally stream Bakemonogatari. But we eventually got it.

As for Zero no Tsukaima, I keep wanting to feel the hope that we will get the previous 3 seasons eventually. It just seems like it might be a little sticky with the licensing status first season.
Then again, Funimation has been bringing back a lot of out of print titles, like Shakugan no Shana. But the situation with ZnT is more than just being out of print....

And my goodness you brought up something good - Higurashi. I would die of happiness, right on the spot, if CR were to ever stream it.
I'm in the same boat - I want to watch Kai somewhere legally. And the OVAs. The first season is one of my absolute favorite anime, and I've been wanting to get the DVDs for a long time...I know this barely does anything, but I even contacted NISA and Sentai about a possible license.
After all, NIS did get Umineko recently. So I really think there is a glimmer of hope somewhere in the future for Higurashi. Just not on Funimation.
