Same, I showed it to my friend and he started NOPEing as soon as the whole drool thing made itself clear. However, I forced him to sit it out until the end of the second episode, by which point he was much more interested.
Still, it's a hard sell and draws some strange reactions when trying to describe it, indeed myself and the others at uni I know who have seen it generally say MGX instead of the full name to avoid having to explain it to people without being able to make them actually watch it.

Kannazuki no Miko. A lot of people, especially reviewers are too harsh on this one. It has been mixed.
Casshern Sins is another one. Wished it was given another chance. Naruto isn't so bad, either. 11eyes is another.

Black Cat, Buso Renkin, Ghost Hunt, Isekai seikishi monogatari, Kikoushi Enma, Level E, Shiki All of these shows dont seem to get the ratings that they deserve ... Also, i don't really like Clannad and Angel Beats was a little overrated but i really enjoyed Kanon which seems to be the least liked out of the 3.

Ixion Saga DT. A lot of people gave it 1 and 2 stars. But for me, this anime is 4 stars material. It's so funny.
I don't get offended if people hate, what offends me is when people compare Ixion to Sword Art Online, they're not even comparable. One deals with fantasy/princess/kingdom stuff while the other is more sci-fi... totally different genres and plotline.

Oh! I Know! Evangelion. It has surpassed show everyone has seen and liked to show people whine about and hate on. I liked it though. I also seem to be the only one ever who didn't like SAO. Ever. That means from episode 1 and on.
