edit: Typo in tittle: "should I switch TO Funimation"

I've seen much of the older selection, and the animes of the season have given me a seemingly sub-par impression save a few. Aside from the current selection, I love crunchyroll so canceling it would be a tough thing to do for me. It just feel like I haven't been getting my anime fix in the last month.

Give me multiple reasons as to why I should keep my Crunchyroll subscription.

While Funimation does have a huge collection of titles, their player is terrible in comparison to Crunchyroll's; it's really faulty from the feedback I've heard. Crunchyroll is your best option if you wish to follow currently airing anime but Funimation has a bigger catalog from what I remember. I'm not sure if Funimation has a free trial but you can check to see if it better for your anime viewing.

I too have thought about raiding Funimation for a while. I don't know, I'll give it a go but eh.

It's your dollar, it's your heart and head. You know the value you are gettting, or feel you aren't. What can I a stranger add to that. and why would I want to?

That said. Funimation isn't place I've gotten value in the last two years. I watched a few shows before then. but I can't make their player work can't easily navigate their site and generally have a horrible time. So even if I unpremiumed from CR to spend my money elsewhere, it wouldn't be on funimation.

^Thanks for the reply, really needed. I think it does havei a trial, If this decision makes my head explode I'm probably going to temporarily get a Funimation subscription while keeping my Crunchyroll to keep supporting it. Side effects to this may be the fact that it wont be so temporary.

Navigation and community is another reason why letting go of CR is near impossible to do.

I've been asking myself the same thing the last couple days but I'm having a tough time deciding. I miss the English dubs because I can really immerse myself in the show but I'm having a hard time coming to a decision

Try Hulu to. They have a good player and a good range of anime. I don't subscribe, but have watched what I can't find on here even with the boring commercials.

Neither does netflix... heh. I know I know. there is a netflix.CA but it doesn't have HALF the stuff that's on the american version and their anime section is nearly as bad a joke as blockbuster's was. Now THERE is a service I'm considering unsubscribing to..

Well.... my opinion is sort of biased but....

Funimation is solid if you don't mind fighting their player and the streaming issues so long as you are about catalog titles. Cause they do have a bunch of great shows to pick from. CR has the far superior selection of new shows, a fairly strong catalog as well, and one of the best players on the internet anime or otherwise. I also might be wrong but I think CR has better device support, 360, Roku, that sort of stuff.

To just cut to the chase and get down to brass tacks... I pay a monthly sub to CR. I do not pay a sub to Funimation. Nuff said.

Give it sometime, crunchyroll is not as old as funimation. The site went legal not to long ago, and now the site is trying to get as much as anime back...Legally speaking. Funimation is old, has had tons of time to collect license of anime and such. Crunchyroll hasn't had such a along time. Crunchyroll is the 'newest' anime site, in relation to big fat cats like funimation and exct. The anime section is growing, and will take sometime to get a huge load of anime, like funimations. Just give it sometime and then you will notice the anime section getting larger and larger overtime. But, crunchyroll does have a better streaming and community than ALOT of sites, trust me. I been to a bunch of other sites

Seriously?

Funimation has a free trial offer. Use it to your advantage and make your own decisions.

I don't think anyone here could really make the decision of what you should spend your money on, that's something you should really choose for yourself.
Also, assuming you're only in it for the anime, isn't most (if not all) of Funi's work available for free on Youtube and Hulu? I've seen most of them there in the past. And if Funi has a free trial, you should probably try that first before giving your money to them, to be sure you want to give them your money. I've never tried Funimation, but considering a lot of people are saying the player is awful, you probably out to test the waters first.
