It had just the right amount of emotional punch for me, mostly because it treated Kotoura's gift with sensitivity and realism (paradoxical as that sounds!). I'm confident that the series will turn out well!

The start...whoaa just WOW but after the watching the OP I was like oh this is going to have manga symbolism and very silly etc. When after watch the start thought it would be a series tone anime, but after meeting Manabe who I thought was quite funny I actually started to like it and I agree that this could be one to watch of Winter 2013, I will defiantly watch the next episode and I hope it still has the serious elements even though it's a comedy.

I really liked how they started off by showing her suffering, and then he came swooping in. Havent watched too many romance animes, but even so i can tell this one started out really good.

And then I cried some more when it turned around and was light-hearted and sweet. I kept hoping for "Another"-style deaths for the mom and that old hag that stole her kitten. God, what an emotional roller coaster that was... 20/10 stars! And I just noticed that Hanazawa Kana is in it! 25/10 stars! lol

I knew about it, but didn't think anything of it. I was just off from work today and figured, "why not?" and gave it a shot. I really enjoyed the episode way more than I ever expected. So far it's my favorite opening episode of the new season. Hope it keeps it up and stays good all the way through. It could potentially be my pick for the winter season.

Haha yea i had that feeling aswell. The title and pictures on the web didnt interest me one bit. Glad i didnt skip out on it though.

I needed to cry but then the sudden switch to the opening... Wow... It seems way different that the first 10 minutes... I feel sorry for her... I wanted to punch all of the b*tches in Kotoura's life...

I had low expectations of it because the pictures, the description and the fact that it is based on a 4-koma manga didn't really make it stand out. But after I watched the first episode I thought "wow!". I actually cried during the episode and that doesn't happen often. The show really knows how to bring over emotions. This might be the best series of the season.

I love how they made this episode contrast so much, and I must say that this series is worth sticking to definitely. First episode was really powerful, the first eight minutes nearly had me slitting my wrists, but then it turned into a light hearted comedy. If it stays this strong could well be the best show of the Winter season.
