The previews for this show didn't do it justice. I was shocked at how emotionally well done the first half of the show was and then it balanced the comedy in pretty well. I can tell this one will be a good one. It's just not what I was expecting from the previews is all and that's a good thing.

This totally flew under my radar until I saw the episode on the main page. Tragic in the beginning, and light hearted fun at the end. This is already one of the better shows this season just after the first episode. Looking forward to more.  |

Holy shit, the first half of the episode...wow, didn't expect it to be that sad because judging from the promotional video, it was misleading.
Rest of the episode was more of a comedy but I found it quite funny. For some reason, I didn't pay attention to this series at first but now, this definitely has my attention. Nice episode overall. 5/5.

were you expecting another moe romantic comedy school life shenanigan in the first ep?
WRONG!! SLAP IN THE FACE WITH REALITY!! NOW START CRYING!! YES YOU SHOULD FEEL BAD!!
They made the characters more real in this case, that not everything is smiles and rainbows
But at the same time it tells us that not everything is hopeless and that you are alone if something goes wrong. There will be someone to help pick you back up when you are down

Yeah the first half of the ep was pretty brutal on the emotions, and then it was like "aww, Im sorry, have some comedy and cheer up!"

Here I was expecting the usual high school romantic comedy and it was like fuck that noise, shits about to get real. I think the way they transition from tragic to lighthearted was handled very well

Seems like we're all spoiling it so no tags but agree with all the above who say this has to be one of the saddest openings ever!!! Talk about reach into my chest, rip my heart out, throw it on the floor, stomp on it, twist sideways...
But then it turns into a funny, sweet rom com!
Wow, I am totally impressed and floored. Agree again with several above that so far I think this is the best winter season opener and really must think about how good it is all time. Wasn't on my radar either but it sure is now! Might need to import this one, wow, wow, wow...
Funny, I saw this and thought, "But the Hentai Prince hasn't started yet..."

Hey everyone, great to see all the support that the series is getting. I agree with most of you and sorry I have not replyed to any.
I said when I started this thread I didn't think I would do a first impressions video but then I did.
So if you have yet to watch it here is my SPOILER FREE Impressions, for the people who have this means I didn't talk about the start as I think thats what caught a lot off people off guard and was shocked.

Gonna throw in a prediction I'm sure some of you have also thought of while finishing the first ep
Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide Kotoura's mom will be back, she is in the OP of the show and her actions have left a significant impact on Kotoura.
Now whether they will be able to reconcile or not is another matter but I'm sure this will be the other major emotional moment in the show probably near the end |
