Fast, two volumes in three months after waiting since September 2011 since volume three came out! That Manabe is a cutie-pie too. Like many real guys, Manabe-kun's heart is actually true and in the right place even though he has an ecchi mind! |

Any ideas on that cliffhanger? One of the best cliffhangers from this series if I say so myself.

Kotoura-san seems to move from drama to comedy to drama with comedy. With that cliffhanger, it seems to be heading to the first real drama since Moritani had Manabe beaten. As for my thoughts/ideas on what happens... Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide I don't think it is seeing the future/past. My guess is that, as she passed the man with the girl, his dark thoughts were so terrible/overpowering that it broke through whatever barrier was established during Kotoura's illness. The sudden and terrible evil flashing through her brain was too much for the kind-hearted Kotoura to handle; it overwhelmed her completely, and she collapsed. Either way, an unexpectedly dark twist for what has so far been a relatively lighthearted comedy. |

I like the twist, but I just hope they don't go too far with it. It's already been established that her childhood was fucked at best, and I welcome the oncoming tragedy, since that's how it begun so it was only a matter of time that the dark parts would catch up.
Hell I'm surprised it's been so many episodes of the lightheartedness and I was beginning to lose interest. But this new twist has me interested. |

Want to spoil but won't... Will be good, don't worry!
Edit, OK a small spoiler about whether her cold is connected to the next part: Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide No connection. The next part is part three of the manga in volume two while the cold was actually a side story at the end of volume three, has nothing to do with what she saw at the end of the last episode. They jumble things up from the manga, e.g. The beach episode was NOT anime only, it was taken from the start of part four in book three. And the summer baito and birthday party present from Manabe to Kotoura was Xmas baito and an Xmas present... |

This my 'guess' from freeze framing that final scene and watching the episode preview. It is a guess, here's what I'm betting. No spoiler because I honestly have no idea if I'm right.
1) Kotoura has stumbled onto a crime scene. I don't know if she's seeing the memories of the victim, the perpetrator or the visceral thoughts of both as she 'catches them in the act' -- I suspect the more intense the emotion the louder the thought screams. 2) Kotoura is going to be in a position to 'aid the police with their investigations' 3) '2' above is going to start heading down a path familiar to the ESP club president. and require her good will and resolve to not reach a bad end. 4) Mother may get involved in some way. She's running out of episodes in which to show. I COULD be way out in left field. I'm basing this on a scene of violence that assaults Kotoura's mind (I think it will be not as bad as it could be, looks like a striker baton and not a knife was used. so my money is on a beating, rather than murder. though... Rape might cause that reaction in innocent Kotoura and that would be a very dark twist. ) the further extrapolations are a chain of suppositions based on my spin of known kotoura canon and the scene of the police tape barrier-ed crime scene. Your Mileage May Vary. |

It's not the man with the girl that she gets those 'thoughts' from, the man passing her has a white shirt not blue. It's (probably) the guy that you can see walking away behind Manabe. |

I honestly think this anime could of done better if the graphics was on the more serious side.
It would have given a bigger impact, the story worries me as the amount of happy go lucky versus serious drama is a bit unbalanced. This has hurt the series. |

well, if they pull rape into this anime i'll stop watching and never watch this show. We can leave rape out of anime i'm tired of it, its like the industry is trying to make us accept rape or something.

I don't necessarily agree, but I see your point. This could easily be a more dark and gritty series like Another, but I like the way it is. It's funny, but it's still been able to get me all teary eyed. |

They improved upon them a lot IMO but kept its character which I think is a good thing. It is meant to be funny, being four koma and being four koma most is drawn in quite a minimalistic way. |
