That is one of the worst starting sequences I can think of in anime... it makes me worry what we're gonna see when they get to the series climax, if they're willing to waste that much time piling agony on their viewers.
Edit: The rest is really fun though, it'd be interesting to see what was going on in the writers minds.

This was one of the few series I was really looking forward to, since I had sort of read the first few pages of the manga. The only thing I didn't really like was:
Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide Manabe's introduction and relationship with Kotoura seemed pretty rushed. In the manga, Manabe was introduced as having some pretty serious trust issues, and Kotoura coming in and telling him that nobody's really trying to deceive him as their first meeting, setting them up more as foils for each other than just Manabe swooping in. And after that their relationship started off a lot rockier than it did in the anime.
But really, that's pretty mild compared to the issues most series have with their first episodes, so I'm definitely going to keep watching. |

I thought we were going to see a drama show for a second, but Im glad to see it got all warm and fuzzy at the end.
And is it just me, or does the animation look like Mitsudomoe? (Didnt read the posts on this topic so not sure)

i’m just stun in all ways like pull biggest curve ball ever on it really no one saw this coming in any form til we just seen it oh my why this happen?!
meet Haruka Kotoura who one time life for her was good til everything went to Break the Cutie in all worst ways.
because she can read minds cause she lost everything from being bullied in school to even own parents don’t want her anymore.
cause of suffer that Haruka carryover til now & then all change when she meet Manabe who bit perv & yet wow amaze at Haruka cause she save him from truck.
yet after learning bit of Haruka’s past Manabe going side with her to be her friend.
overall oh my words it went to combine of Break the Cutie & The Woobie in ways we did not see this coming.
really hope this series get well in weeks to come.

Fantastic first episode and an incredibly moving first 10 minutes. This has instantly become my favorite for the season.

They didn't dwell on her too much, but there was the gradual transition from a loving wife and mother, to seeing her husband unable to cope and trying to get away, desperately trying to find a "cure" for the girl, and ending up an embittered woman having an affair and a broken family.
They definitely started off as the perfect family, and I guess she blames the girl

I was really moved. A girl who lost everything, due to her overnatural abilitiy, finds a light in the dark tunnel. I'll surely continue watching this show and see how Haruka handles her life from now on.

I didn't know this show existed until yesterday. I have no idea whether it has a manga, so I knew nothing of this. That said, I love this show! The first episode had so much negativity that I thought she'd be scarred for life, but then the show took a turn to the lighter side which will carry throughout the rest of the season. This is near the tops for the new season.

She introduces the characters in her room. She introduces herself in the first episode which is why she gets all sweaty running between interviewer and interviewee couch the whole time. The last one is a recap with some funny substitutions.

Probably one of the better "gripping your heart" 1st episodes that I have seen in an anime in awhile. To be constantly having your soul hurt with every human being you come into contact with and finding the one person to shatter that dark place is just... Wow. It had me hooked instantly.
