Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide Because of that stunt Arata might not be able to play in the individual tournament?!! Oh why did he let his pride get in the way? If he hadn't put on his glasses....Damnit! I really hope that is not the case... So much drama! Ps. I thought it was so cute when Arata hid from Chihaya! Tee hee |

I don't think it was pride; I think he was beginning to understand the appeal of team play. Yes. Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide he was realizing that his bad play was affecting the others, and once the first went out and he was no longer affecting the team result, he just couldn't bear to keep dragging down his surviving team-mate. |

Yup, Arata also saw how serious his opponent was, and he wanted to respect his opponent as well by trying his best. |

I still can't get over Shinobu's bi-polar metabolism.

is this slice of life?

It's actually more like a slice of pie... a very, very delicious slice of pie that keeps getting better each week! But seriously, it's classified as a sports anime that centers around the Karuta card game. It's really good! |

It's definitely not just for women. I think if anyone likes the sports genre in anime, they will really like this as it seems (at least to me anyway, but I think most posters here will agree), that there's great character development, beautiful music and the drama during the tournament games can be quite intense. And actually, no, I'm not a shounen jump reader. |

Shounen Jump Reader? Never heard of categorizing English speakers based on a serialization. I always thought we just read/watch what's good/available to us in English regardless of the specific magazine it comes from. But anyways Chihayafuru is the best thing I have seen on Crunchryroll. I'm a little worried that I haven't heard talk of licensing it for NA. I really hope NISA can get their hands on it. I can see it now, a typical NISA premium edition art box with Chihayafuru on it...beautiful! |
