You mean third? this is the second season

Hmm, Lisa_ennen24 may have meant that she just started watching the 1st season, and is loving it so far, and is looking forward to getting to the 2nd season. But I don't know... I won't be able to sleep at night now until I know for sure! xP

But yeah, all it took was 1 second of watching this latest ep and I knew right away what it was! I am disappointed, but I do kinda like to watch recaps anyway (unless I'm marathoning a series) since I usually have a bad memory for things and it does help to re-jog my old brain on some things. xP

Yeah, recaps are poopy. I become an impatient panda when it comes to this show. I ended up waiting eagerly for a horsey poo recap. Ah well, it's all fine I suppose. Should have known anyways since they did that last season. doh

I do really love this show a lot, a lot, a lot.

Did anything new happen at all, like maybe a little scene at the end or something? I didn't bother watching it once I found out it was a recap.

I don't think there was anything new other than the gag stuff (just like last year). This seemed.. choppier than last year though. I preferred last year's recap episode over this year.. but this year was a lot more jammed packed where last year was more filler since we were just getting to know the characters. Either way.. it's still as painful to wait YET another week even if I subconsciously knew it was going to be about time for a recap episode..

If you want to skip right to the gags, the times are

00:00 - 00:32
03:14 - 03:50
05:00 - 05:27
12:19 - 13:20
22:00 - 22:52

As much of a drag as the recap part is, I do love the little gags, because they actually tell us something about the characters besides karuta. Well, except for Chihaya, of course.

Wow that's awesome you broke it down like that :)

Btw does anyone know how many chapters in the manga the last match took? I'm scared the last episodes will be just one match.. I want to see the individual matches.

The last match was a long one, 6 chapters. The next match has 5 chapters left, all of book 15. Then individuals start in book 16.

Up to book 20 is out. And I can't wait for book 21!!!

Thank you

I'm curious then when the anime will finish season 2 then.. at the end of the the team match or at the end of individuals thus completing High School Nationals.. Either way we know this is still going.. I certainly hope we get a Season 3 sooner rather than later so we can catch up Btw.. How much more does the manga cover? Enough for another full season? or do they have to go on hiatus to have enough material? (and no you don't have to go into detail WHAT is past this Nationals - just as an example if there is enough material to just go forge ahead).

Individuals go well into book 17. Books 18-20 are not enough for another season, not even close. Season one ended partway into book 9. Season 2 has been book 9ish to end of book 14 so far, already six books and I am sure it will finish at least a few more, 15-17 I hope to finish team and individual nationals. That would make both seasons about 8-9 books give or take which means we would probably need some time for the manga to go ahead before season 3, hmm... will be close, probably 3 more books this year, volume 23 coming out in December is my guess. They could do volumes 17ish to 23 in season 3 starting next January but that would make it a bit short of material....

...unless... they don't even finish the individuals in season 2 but I sure hope they do!!!

LOL that would suck if they make a friggin' cliffhanger for the end of Season 2.. Thanks though for being so thorough without spoilers I just want to see Arata get out of that damn room before the season is out! Geeeeeeeeeeez..

You know, sometimes before an episode of Chihayafuru, I think "Oh man, it's gonna be the same old come from behind routine again."

But when I get into a karuta match, I forget all of that and get carried away by the intensity, the ebb and flow, and the emotion of it all. I know this is nothing new, but it happens time after time, and I continue to be amazed again and again. This feeling is how you know you're watching a special, magical show.
