After episode 23, I have another reason to like Chihaya, for the first time in the series, she made a really selfless decision.

I agree with others, can't wait to see the outcome of the A class finals.

Agreed! Even when Taichi was only thinking of winning quickly so she can see the Class A finals, she was overwhelmed by happiness for him! So touching!

My money is on Arata for class A champ...

I think that Shinobu will win due to her having more experience as a Queen.

But it'll be interesting to see the look on her face if she loses.

Hahahahahhahah "you're going down".. GO ARATA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now that Taichi finally got to Class A (Poor guy losing his marbles when Chihaya came in the room.. LOL but glad he got it together finally) I suspect Chihaya is going to treat him differently. I wonder if Arata will as well? Should be interesting.

Finally the words Harada-sensei mentioned in episode 20 of season 1 comes true.

“Frustration won’t last forever. Nobody can keep on going without some measure of reward.”

That final scene between Chihaya and Taichi will go down the books. One of the truly moving and touching scenes ever. How I wish it wasn't that rushed since this is after all a realization of a dream.

Actually very much agreed. It's like .. "let's take 4 full episodes looking at that bitch Megume.. oh.. how her fanclub swoons".. then.. yeah yeah.. 3 of Mizusawa in the finals.. 2 not shown and the last one in half an episode when it was supposed to be epic.. It's like.. damned.. I thought the director LOVED Taichi.. now it's like "yeah yeah.. get on with it".. if it wasn't for Chihaya rightfully losing her marbles I'd swear it would have been relegated to a text message from the Empress back to the team...

I agree with your point as well. They could have shortened the battles with First Akashi Girls High and do away with the recap episode. The pacing could have been more balanced and the impact of the episode could have been maximized

Well I doubt they would have gotten rid of that episode (the recap) but there were like 4 episodes where half the episode was a recap of we just saw (like when Chihaya laid down next to Taichi in the tatami room.. (I mean damn that was what.. 5 minutes of recaps?) Also during the group stage matches we had 5 minutes of recaps at the beginning of each episode.. they could have squeezed a LOT more out of those to give Taichi reaching Class A a lot more respect.. And we MIGHT have seen Komano and Tskuba's Finals

Taichi getting to class A was definitely the match I most cared about. I sort of wonder what he's going to do now, though. Just being class A wasn't enough for him, or else he'd have just accepted his society leader's offer to progress him for getting 2nd in two tournaments.

Ugh, only a few more episodes? This is my favorite kind of easygoing show.

P.S. Kaname08, your status message about Squidward got a genuine laugh from me.

Feel like everything escalated too quickly so much awesomness in like 20 minutes is too much for my little potato brain.

I think rank A was really important to Taichi, but it was most important that he earn it himself. I think he felt like if he'd accepted to rank up under those circumstances it would've been a cop-out on his part and he wanted to prove he was capable of pulling it off himself. So it wasn't really just getting rank A that was important, but how he got it.

And now he's done it, and it's awesome.

There were two other things. He never really accepted that he was skilled, at least in comparison to Chihaya and Arata. He was second fiddle. And, more importantly, he lacked the drive to win. The tournament changed it for him. The team finals gave him the drive. The individual tournament let him find his style. And in the last match, he found his purpose.

He'd been pursuing Class A for so long, but mostly because he was living his own self-defeating prophecy. When he finally forgot about Class A, he achieved it. To see the shock on his face when he finally realized he reached Class A... priceless.

But, now we get back to the Class A finals. It was interesting to hear Arata's grandfather's style of play described as "nasty". And you can see a bit of that in Arata. This should be an awesome match.
