Actually I think that the romance now makes sense given how much time has elapsed. I know in some anime you get these "deep relationships" with people who met 5 minutes ago.. LOL These people have known each other for years now ;)

I know I want to see if we get skinny vs fat Shinobu.. LOL |

Ya, it seems like they're going to focus more on Karuta by the way the series is progressing now. However, I would expect more romance in this sequel as result of Sumire and maybe even Arata later on.
The latest episode was very good imo and nice to see Taichi ultimately won his match. I lol'd @ those towels being thrown at him. Oh god, that was fucking priceless. At any rate, I expect a lot more matches like this soon and some even stronger opponents later on namely Shinobu. Oh and this girl did pretty well if you ask me, at least in the first half: |

I laughed so hard. Taichi is getting a harem even though he's not trying. Sumire is also turning into a nice team addition. Great episode, and it's nice to see more mental strategies explained. This is still one of my favorite shows. |

Good episode. Agree with the towels being thrown as hilarious. Still curious how Arata will be worked into the picture.

Was it just me or did that latest ep feel really short? It was over in what felt like 5 minutes and now I gotta wait another week!
There really wasn't much new going on so there isn't much else to say, but I have to mention that Oe has become one of my favorite characters. |

No Sailor Moon this summer? Boo.

That orchestral sweep
Man any remotely inspiring moment and they pull it out. Best part of the episode had to be Porky losing it over multiple things at once and totally choking. These episodes really do fly by now, I should have marathoned the first season a little slower. |

I don't like to say this but the past 2 episodes haven't been that great, I would like to be involved of practising and setting up before the tournaments. The 2 matches have been rather boring imo and I don't like that

The one thing I do like about this series is it portrays a realistic approach to a sport or situation. Failure is necessary for growth and learning to become stronger so assuming you know what will happen is no guarantee.

This show is built out of such wonderful characters. They develop and grow in surprising ways, even during the matches. I'm never bored watching this.
I can't wait for Kana to beat her opponent! |

I was disappointed partly in season 1(I still liked the anime overall) because I liked the connection between Arata and Chi;especially, considering Arata is who got her involved with karuta and it seems he's still an afterthought in the whole scheme of things. |

I disagree. There's a lot of character development happening in the matches. But, I agree that Arata hasn't been present enough, even though I prefer Taichi x Chi. I suspect Arata's wish... Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide will be to transfer to Chihaya's school if he wins. So, I think we'll see more of him in the future. |
