I think it comes down to a lot of people are very tiered of weak heroes who "show their real inner strength" at the end. yes, a weak hero who grows stronger with adversity is often more relatable to the audience but sometimes you want a hero who kicks ass and takes names. That makes you say "That guy is awesome, wish I could do that." It's refreshing and I think a lot of people are reacting positively to that. For this series the weak character who is going to grow is Jin, odds are it will be his "inner strength at the end" that wins in the pinch but in the meantime we have Izayoi for him (and us) to admire and be inspired by. |

Click to show or hide safest bet is it's a challenge letter from some demon lord that's wanting to put them in their place. If that's the case, I'm guessing it might have been sent by that group of three in the Opening |

Gotta keep in mind that Izayoi has been putting Jin out there as "The Man who will destroy the Demon Lords"
Sure at first the Demon Lords would hear that and chuckle softly before forgetting it and then a day later the No-Names utterly crush one of them. not just beat but totally crushed them into dust. More than a few probably sat up and though "huh....might need to do something about this." |

my guess for the next enemies
which will stretch into the final 5 eps I just get the feeling that all three of them are demon lords... all just a guess though |

I gotta admit my response is the opposite.
At the beginning of this season, some of the more serious-minded ones (read Maoyu) seemed the best, but this has really really gripped me. It's just really great and satisfying. Times a million. Sometimes you just don't want powerups and learning your true strength and all that, sometimes you just want to relax and see the good guys be awesome. Oh as an aside: I think there's a bit of a flaw in your theory re: Izayoi: Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide there are already gods in the games, and they're not all that special. Yes, the Perseus guys acted strongly to the 'spear of Indra', but that could just be a 'true' artifiact like the true Hades Helmet. I'm not sure that being a God from a long-dead religion is enough. |

Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide There have however been 2 references to Indra so far. The Spear is the most obvious one but Thousand Eyes is also a reference. The biggest point however is one of the descriptions I found of Indra describing him as a Yellow Haired god who is mischievous and reckless. A War God who waged battle against demons and killed many Demon Lords, including some that were supposedly unkillable. Someone else also pointed out that there is a legend of Indra defeating a Serpent demon who stole all the waters from India and then returning water to the people. so that makes 3 Indra connections so far and Izayoi's appearance and behavior is a close match. and keep in mind that Indra is hardly a minor god like the serpent that Izayoi got the water tree from. He's a King of God, on par with Zeus and I think he is still part of Hinduism today as well as Buddhism and Taoism. |

I liked it, but the problem with this is: the main character is too powerful. I hope they show some of his weakness later in the episodes. I love characters with 3-D personality. I will continue to watch it to see how it goes. It's good, but not great. Well, for me at least.

Click to show or hide OK I was mistaken, he is as you said a major Hindu deity. I was thinking it was some minor assyrian type of thing (probably got the idea in my head from Campione). on the other hand, algol is an interesting read too: (per wiki) The name Algol derives from Arabic رأس الغول ra's al-ghūl : head (ra's) of the ogre (al-ghūl) (see "ghoul").[24] The English name "Demon Star" is a direct translation of this. In Hebrew folklore, Algol was called Rōsh ha Sāṭān or "Satan's Head", as stated by Edmund Chilmead, who called it "Divels head" or Rosch hassatan. A Latin name for Algol from the 16th century was Caput Larvae or "the Spectre's Head". Algol was also linked with "Lilith".Hipparchus and Pliny made this a separate, though connected, constellation. In Chinese, 大陵 (Dà Líng), meaning Mausoleum, refers to an asterism consisting of β Persei, 9 Persei, τ Persei, ι Persei, κ Persei, ρ Persei, 16 Persei and 12 Persei. Consequently, β Persei itself is known as 大陵五 (Dà Líng wu, English: the Fifth Star of Mausoleum.).[26] According to R.H. Allen the star bore the grim name of Tseih She 叠尸 (Dié Shī), meaning "Piled up Corpses" but this appears to be a misidentification. In another para it goes on how it's linked to perseus, but that's actually less interesting :P |

Click to show or hide Indra is still part of Hinduism. In particular, Indra was defeated by Lord Krishna, though I doubt that will be part of this show. |

Just found a 4th Indra connection in the show
Kurousagi herself as a moon rabbit ties to the following legend Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide a rabbit, with nothing else to offer a hungry, weary Indra, jumps into a fire, cooking himself for the deity (a timeless example of humankind's self-serving fables). Out of gratitude, Indra placed the rabbit in the moon. |

ep 6
pretty good ep, I guess Kurousagi can match Izayoi (at least in terms of speed shown so far) but I'm guessing strength as well, shes not an Aristocrat of the Little Garden for nothing and whoa whoa whoa...kind of hinting/pushing/teasing/shipping Asuka x Izayoi aren't we this ep? Also guessing that is the new Salamandra's leader in the middle then |
