Sorry tell you fans of the show, but the BD is selling like absolute garbage. like literal crap.

there is little to no chance of a second season

I should hope it's selling like shit because it isn't even out for sale yet. According the amazon.jp the first volume isn't due out until March 29th.

I was talking about the pre orders. they have not come close to the Manabi line. only Mondaiji and a few other have not passed the Manabi line, while a lot of shows are way beyond it. I mean passed it by quite a bit

the Manabi line being around 3500 -4000 sales, Mondaiji has had a little of 900. That is a flop, and the company is loosing money rapidly. They will not risk making a second season and just as important no North American company would be willing to get the distribution license, because japan is the testing ground for shows, Unless it is specifically targeted towards a western audience (of which there are little) the sales in japan will be interpreted as a view of how well he show will do in North America

in regard to pre order sales we can also take a look at Love Live! which has it's volume 1 release on March.22 it has far passed the point of being profitable and is the best selling BD of all Winter 2013 shows. it is pretty much guaranteed to get picked up for a second season especially with an ongoing manga.

other show is horrid sales Shin Sekai Yori, with only selling 491 units is a huge flop.
Even Kyoani's tamako market isn't selling to what they want. Tamako market has made back it's money, but compared to other Kyoani sales it is pretty bad.

you are grossly underestimating the importance of Pre order sales. Obviously they will have some more sales once released but not to the point of saving the show to where we all want it.

Oreshura for example is one of the best selling series this season and it only gained 1000 more sales after its release, primarily it sold during its Pre order

Episode 9

Well, the preview for ep 10 at the end of ep 9 confirms that this is a 10 episode series

And will you look at that, Asuka got
lol
Let's see if the ending will be memorable enough for me that I won't regret making Problem Children on of my top picks for this season :D

I doubt next episode will disappoint in any way other than it being the last episode for this epic series. this is far and away the best new series this season, and I hope to god there will be more of it eventually.

You don't know how many shows I've watched that actually had a disappointing end lol

But like you said, for the most part I expect a decent open ending that could lead to a second season (like Oda Nobuna had)

Anyway, Problem Children is pretty much tied for my top show of this season

Sadly, this is correct and Mondaiji isn't even high enough on preorders to track really. It is assumed to be a lost cause. Somehow shows never come out of nowhere, the people who buy these generally put most of their orders in the day the volumes go up for sale even though it is months ahead, sometimes before the first show even airs. The number of shows that do better than preorder estimates, way better, is very small. Girls Und Panzer did it but this close to releasing it was way up. A show coming out this month that is still off the radar is destined to be a small seller.

Light novel sales being up can still save it and there are second seasons for some shows that don't really deserve it but again, they are very rare and are usually very popular with their original material like Chihayafuru.

Enjoy the last episode... I will!

well, it's sold just over 1200 BD/DVD so far.. I'm curious as to how well the LNs have been selling since the anime started, but I can't find a sales chart for those.

1200 turning into 3000-4000 by March 29 would require a miracle sadly.

Oricon has light novel sales too.

I assure you that with less then a month to its release, 1200 is not a good place to be. It will be near impossible to get another 3 thousand.

I wish it would sell a little more , because the show is entertaining every now and then.

EDIT: the exact number of sales is 1,027

I just started watching it since it is the second most popular anime right now on CR, I'm not a fan of slice of life anime, is this one a slice of life anime? Anyhow I'll at least give it a chance and do what other trend seekers does lol.

if Izayoi isn't god related somehow like others have speculated, then I'll be disappointed that he is just an overpowered human

Magical, supernatural fight anime I would say, definitely not slice of life though I agree it would be fun to live in the Garden!

Just watched all the episodes including the latest one at work. All I can say is the poster picture CR use is very misleading.
