Tips, recipes, questions and hopefully answers

The microwave is your best friend ~
Less is more, use short periods of cook time, stir often. Example: 4 mins, 2 mins, 1 min, 1 min -stir in between cook times.
Use a rotating table or shift dish positions.
Never over cook!

Be creative, experiment, keep an open mind and a liberal palate ~
Seriously, when your budget is limited, you can't afford to be picky. Try it, you might like it. Experiment with combinations of ingredients that you already like. Many people eat bites from side dishes rather than finishing one at a time. Put them all in one bowl, there's less mess. Salad and pasta in one bowl, for example.

Nikki's whatever's in the fridge casserole ~
A variation on the one bowl meal. The rule of thumb is that if you eat the ingredients separately on one plate, throw them all together at one time. Look in your fridge, whatever's leftover gets eaten. This is for the adventurous and liberal palate, but can be fun and rewarding.

Another budget dinner experiment success!
By the seat of my pants again: 2 bowls, 2 forks and about 15 mins total prep / cook time.
Half a bowl of instant potatoes, set aside. 3 eggs scrambled with a dash of water, salt & pepper to taste. Pour eggs over taters. Top with a half can of cream of mushroom soup and heat. Tasty microwave cooking.
