Picture time (as promised) A lot of images, and large ones, so i upload to imgur instead.

nicee! Love the fourth one. I'm a sucker for majestic pictures of mountains and unbroken wilderness (as you could probably guess from my own picture earlier in the forum )

Just wondering, are there many nice thick forests in Norway? A lot of those pictures look almost more like scrub land with a few trees... I'm curious about the country's geography. You're not so far north that you're beyond the tree line are you?! You can probably guess that my favourite part of hiking is the forest, but the view from the top definitely comes in close behind!

Some of those pictures are above the treeline, we have a lot of thick forests to. Our geography varies a bit, but most of it is mountain terrain, or close to the treeline, especially the more north you go. In Oslo, Akershus and around these areas, we have a more traditional forests. In southern part of Norway, the terrain is shaped after the coastline, and the forests are more spread out and many lakes.

That's cool. Sounds almost like Canada!

I wish I could do those things like camping , road trips , hiking , plane rides...but I never did not one it seems fun though. Even though I spent most of my life cooped up in my home I always wanted to go and take a walk to the corner store or something but my mother would never let me leave the house..not even across the street. I mean I didn't live in a bad neighborhood they were few people dying in the area from "unfortunate events" but that happens everywhere and won't help her paranoia. When I'm able to do that stuff I'll do it when I get chance though

From reading your post it sounds like your mom keeps you chained up in the house? 0_0

I'm an only child so I can see that since she always says "You're my only child" but she won't allow me on the porch because "I might get snatched off my porch by someone" I need SOME air though

I like indoor rock climbing.
More fun, less fear of falling to my death.

Outdoor isnt specifically dangerous at all. If you get either proper training and dont over do yourself at trad or just sport climb (the far more appealing option imo) things are fine. Or you can boulder which is my preferred method, all the fun and challange without any of the hassle of dealing with protection or the general ball ache of falling

Yeah, I adore hiking/climbing in Painted Canyon (Medora, ND) about every summer.

I also enjoy climbing and exploring the caves and rock formations out in the country.

I like fishing and hunting, although they're not too many places to actually rock climb in georgia ( not indoors ) . I'd like to try bouldering somtimes.

Earlier this spring I hitchhiked from where I live (middle of Sweden) to the north, then down to Helsinki (Finland) and up again along the Russian border. This took about a week. From there I went to the Finnish and Norweighan laplands in which I spent a week and a half hiking around by myself. When I set out I brought nothing with me but a sleeping bag, some clothing, a few apples and a loaf of bread. No money, no phone, no compass, no tent. I survived on what people offered me and what I could find in the laplands. I fished, of course. It was an amazing experience.
My plans are to do the same thing this autumn. I'm going down to portugal to stay with a friend for a while, and, from there, hopefully I'll continue down to africa. The feeling of not relying on money or electronics (but still people I happen to pass by, of course) and still make it around is just perfect.

I love hiking! I like camping too, especially if I have my horse with me. That hasn't happened yet though so I stick to hiking; it's fairly cheap lol.
