Haha~ I love rocking red! I only use it if it goes with my outfit and the rest of my makeup however. Being a pale girl I actually like the contrast with my skin tone. I also think that red lips go well with bright eyes, so if you make your eyes pop as well as your lips it's a knockout! But matte red is too... matte, put simply. It looks nice in artsy photos and pin-up style pics but a shiny red is better when you're wearing it out. I layer a matte red with a sheer cherry red lip gloss for a real pop of color when the mood strikes.
But overall I agree with you guys saying that red lipstick is something that you either rock it or not depending on the rest of your appearance. Most of the time I'll do a pale pink or nude lip gloss with a touch of sparkle but some days I just feel the need for that pop of color.
Also Taylor Swift does do red very nicely. Either she has one killer style team or she really makes some fabulous makeup choices because she's very pretty!

I love red lipstick but I have to agree that it isn't for everybody. A lot of people don't take the time to have it match their skin tone and I honestly think red lipstick shouldn't be a part of an everyday look (but that's my own opinion)

I love red lipstick an nails. I love that look. Especially with fair skin and dark hair. Its classy and shows off features wonderfully when done right. (the darker reds are best)
Fair skin, dark hair, red nails and lips are the best. Works great with a form-fitting jacket or nice blouse. I've been done in by women sporting that magic combo more than any other. I wish more women would wear it.

Feels gross when a girl has it on and they kiss you...
Plus it rubs off on everything....

I think it looks fairly horrible, and I've never met a case where it hasn't. Same for red nail varnish and most gaudy and bright colours, but especially red.

Why would there be a Theory on Lipstick? You're thinking of the natural inclination that a womans lips is a visual proxy to her vagina, and represents their look, colouration and health. |

Depends.... My best friend can't pull it off. and she tries but no way... I gave her shit the last time she wore red lipstick... but we have this one trans-gender friend who can fully pull off red lipstick and totally looks good in it.

I don't wear makeup unless my mom makes me for a dance... Which is part of why I get mistaken for a dude along with being skinny and short-haired but...
It just seems pointless, it's time consuming and covers up the real you to make you look like what the media says is pretty or beautiful. And doesn't it get in the way? How can ya chomp down on a burger or hug somebody taller than you and avoid staining and smearing the red everywhere...?
... Never tried lipstick at all, the girls I've seen wear it, it didn't look good on, and the guys even less so xD
But I'm a pretty cynical and straightforward person, roller coasters and 'thrill' rides are meaningless to me too, so...
Depends on the person, shade, viewers, and what the rest of her ensemble looks like I guess.
