Most people who use it try too hard, a mellow pink or purple usually goes much better.

Red is a bold color and depending on your "season" of skin shading it may not suit you. Also depends on your wardrobe. #1 rule - check if you lean towards blue-based reds or orange-based reds. Darker shades (blue-based) can dominate a face entirely and do you no good. For those that can't do red - coral is a great alternative. It's good to go and spend an hour in a Sephora or something - you can try on dang near anything and see if you love it or hate it before even putting money on it. Then, even if you can't afford it, you can find color dupes on the net and get a cheaper brand (it may not hold the same but there's always trade-offs for saving money).

My Favorites are:

Orange-based -

Adora by Kat Von D
Stiletto by Kat Von D

Blue-based -

Drop Dead Red by Too-Faced

I prefer women to look natural, honestly. Never really was a fan of the whole lipstick thing.

I love any color of bold lipstick. Actually my favorite right now is dark purple.

I used to be afraid it'd be too bold, since I'm a bit on the paler side, but I broke down and bought a red gloss and now I'm obsessed and never going back to "naturals"

Any woman can pull it off with the right shade. If done wrong, it can make you look way older than what you really are. If you're pale and put on dark shade of lipstick then you'll most likely look like Dracula's wife.

Yeah Pink/Rose/Light red works better for me.

Eh. Sometimes it looks nice. Sometimes it doesn't. I don't really pay attention to those kind of things.
