Finally a bit of good news, having a bad week so far, so a new anime is just what the doctor ordered.

Looking forward to this, still catching up on the tv show.

YESSSSSS Ghost In The Shell!!!! My favorite anime series of all time. BRING IT ON!!!

just GiTS or any Cyberpunk? because anime caught the cyberpunk bad in the 80's and 90's

this may not be anime but if you like GiTS tell me it doesn't have pottentional to make 2015 really cool.

Here is a link to the PV (also found in the ANN link)

The show will be a prequel series featuring Motoko when she was younger.

So glad it is a prequel and not a remake or something, which I feared it was at first while watching the PV.

To address the dead Major thing, at the very end of SAC 2, you see Motoko and company heading out on another mission inside some Tachikomas. So she is not dead. She came awfully close, but you can't keep a good cyborg down. I wish Yoko Kanno was part of the production, but it might be worth a look. I personally can't wait.

What did they do to Saito's design -.- honestly so far its the only thing that has me irked about this upcoming series. S.A.C.'s is by far more the more preferable design for him imo. Hopefully will have more Batou and Matoko moments.

The opinions on the animation style I think right now are mixed, based on what we've seen. Some say it's fugly and some say it's alright.

Looks like each of the 4 episodes will have short theatrical releases before they are streamed/aired, with advanced releases in BD/DVD.

Character designs seems pretty much like the original and are quite decent.

I always wanted to see Ghost in the Shell with an Aramaki that isn't close to death. Don't ask me why.

tbh I'm fine with the other designs, even Matoko's now that its been fleshed out, just his new design that is off. The hair style is just...ridiculous, for lack of better words xD

I happen to watch the english dubb of the series and the movies and its an excellent work by the actors.

NOw here is hoping who will do the ADR work for this one.

.Remember Innocence and the mess Dreamworks did with the subtitles, and then the ADR work from Madman Entertainement for the UK and Australia release but there was a mess in that one too .I happen to have the Australian DVD which was released the following year..

Now that Bandai Entertainment is no more , who will license this one?

The first movie was in 1995 and Innocence was in 2004 , Major had a cybernetic body in the first place and from Innocence , we know the Major is NOT really dead per se , her Ghost is in the net .I sound like Batou there for a second. I love Richard Epgar's Batou.

I do hope the writting on this prequel is good.
