note: not directed at any of you specificly since i dont know any of you but just a mini rant for the general public on the intarnets

If you are going willingly of your own free will, moving to another county, then why wouldnt you have made an attempt to lean the language before hand...

It is the fantards and fangirls that try to insert random japanese words. They think becuase they know how to say "cute" and "cat" in japanese they are fluent. (JiroHasUglyHair that mini rant is well justified. I'm studying Japanese in university right now and I dont even try to throw ramdom words in, it just makes you look dumb).

stupid racism aside its pretty ignorent for you to live somewhere and not even bother to learn their language that is the only thing that pisses me off about people coming from other areas and dont even bother to learn the language much less blend into the life style

If you are a foreigner, you need to reach a certain level of Japanese proficiency before working. There are 4 levels, if I'm not mistaken. Certain jobs require different levels. I know if you're going to live there indefinitely, you need Level 4 japaense Proficiency.

If you're going to work there, you'll need a level 3 Japanese proficiency (some specialized jobs require level 2, and even level 1). If you're going to study for specializations or masteral degrees, you need Level 2. If you want to work in an embassy, you need either level 2 or level 1 japanese proficiency.

I'm not sure if the levels are correct, but my Japanese teacher told me about these levels of proficiency. You can get an application form for the exam from the japanese embassy in your country, or you can refer to it through various language institutes that offer the Japanese Proficiency exam.

if they moved there as grown adults, then chances are you will never learn to speak the language. its easier for children to learn and adapt to different languages so yeah x) lol.
