The truth is an absolute. What is in reality true cannot be changed. However, sometimes a lie can become truth only because everyone considers it truth. it is still a lie, but it is true only because everyone believes it is true. But the truth will, in the end, always destroy the lie.

Well the truth is just something which ruins a good lie.

Truths that are told are always biased so are truths really truths or just opinion?
If you want the truth, well you can't. You will only get an idea of what the truth is. Whether you believe the truth is the truth is up to you.

I've always believed what Nietzsche said about truth, which was basically that everyone views the world through their own perspective, so the concept of a Truth, an absolute concept that can not be proven as false, does not exist. I agree with what people on this thread are saying that there is a difference between truth and facts. As I see it there are only two truths that people can agree with and that is that we exist, whether we exist in what is normally accepted reality, the matrix, or whatever you believe in, we are here. The other truth being that we will die, whatever comes next is up to interpretation, but the fact that life will end is inescapable.
