You can never advance if you live in lie. Only when you embrace the truth, can you fully move on- as a human being... No matter how horrible it may be...

The truth is not what we're scared of it's change. Truth should change your life or at least knack at you.

We don't want any of that. It means doing things differently making other plans that aren't to our liking. It often means giving something up or taking away from it. It means we have to work harder at something we all dismissed and we may feel it become a drag.

I'd like to say my attitude to truth is to let it knack at me until I think of what can be done better and then I do it. What helps is simplicity when it comes to truth. Go at things the easy way were you fulfill your obligations.

There is plenty of evidence out there. At the VERY LEAST CNN lied to get ratings. Actors were hired. Bluescreens were used. They were caught. This is fact. This is easily witnessed. What actually happened at the school, I don't know.

As for the truth, logic dictates that there can only be one truth, one way that things actually happened. That is absolute. Even if there were multiple universes where every possibility played out (like in Noein for you anime types), then the existence of the multiple universes would be the truth. The truth is not subjective. What is, is.

And we can never know it.

Imagine a little boy, Joe, comes to the school nurse with a bloody nose. He is crying and sniveling, so he can't answer questions about what happened to him. The nurse decides to ask around the elementary school playground to try to figure out what happened. She gets many stories like, "Sally was being mean," "Sally threw the ball at Joe," "Joe can't catch," and "That ball is evil." It is up to her to make her best educated guess based on the stories she heard as to what really happened. The world's religions are that way, all trying to explain the origins of the same world from different viewpoints. The truth about Sandy Hook is the same. We are limited by perception. We will never know the whole truth. We get spoon fed bites of information and it is up to the wise man to sort the reliable from the BS and piece together in his own mind the most accurate facsimile of the truth he can.

That is the case for everything in life.

i read news daily in hopes to gain truth and uderstanding. A lot of what I read pisses me off sometimes and frustrates me, but I feel like i need to know anyway. Like a while back that girls mom who threw acid on her because she looked up when a guy went by on a motorcycle!!
like WTF! is wrong with some people. they said she brought them dishonor? how about a mom who kills her daughter for opening her eyes and seeing?! I'm pretty sure the dishonor blame would belong to the murderer parent. I was upset for days after reading that.

Why can people be so unserious?
I never understood that since I have never been unserious myself.

The truth is that to the masses, many of you which fall into this category, cognitive dissonance is one of the strongest forces there is. I hail the great Skeptics and Cynics of the past for being able to debate and engage in rhetoric, and the Cynics especially for unlike our modern variety of simply disclaiming everything, being able to question any argument in a way that properly points the wielder of such arguments to question the validity and self-assurance that they hold.

Cognitive dissonance. Everybody says the love the truth, but how many will admit that they are wrong, and that somebody else might be right? How many of you use deductive reasoning, logic, senses, and every tool you possibly can to deduce whether something is true, fact, etc? How many of you simply rely on 'science' and 'experts' to spoonfeed you the 'Truth' or even the Media?

Science is good. Research is good. People can be good. Truth is good.

But just because something is thought to be true does not necessarily make it true in reality.

A real lover of truth would not be immediately attacking his fellow man for stating his opinion of truth and disclaiming it and slandering that person's name. He would state perhaps that he thinks the person is wrong, and supply his reasoning for thinking this.

I laugh when I see people say that somebody is wrong and then continue to list only why they don't like the person instead of just present a proper debate or counter to his point. Basically, I'm telling you all to grow up, because only when uncertain does one truly start to learn. Certainty is the death of inquiry. Philosophy is the science of reason. Theory is a law, hypothesis is the untested unverifiable variant.

Use every tool you have available, stop attacking your fellow men, and start working together to find real Truth.

Above all, look inward, and look at yourself harshly before others.

QFT. To further this open-minded and more sensible thought that avoids extremes, I would say that if every law abiding fearful citizen in a rush to ban or defend guns were instead to spend their efforts in buying one, teaching their kids about it, and learning to use them properly and make sure their fellow upstanding men also know how to use these tools properly, in any real shooting situation...we just might see the person with an assault rifle get a bullet between the eyes.

Truth is but a presentation that has yet to be proven or disproved and then argued over for the rest of time.
