DragonQuest manga, Fairly large, I think it was 1k-1.6k pages long. All I know is that I finished it in 8 hours and damn it was good. (Little cheesy at times, but still good.)
Hmm so many others. Honestly, I'd suggest going to a Manga shop and just randomly pick out a first volume. I have come across many great manga's that way. Some I would have just put back on the shelf because the cover didn't catch my liking.

That being said, I have spent thousands doing this. I either donate them to give them away when I am done. When I give them away, I always ask the person when they are done, to do the same and ask that person to do the same. As well as try to keep the book in good shape. :D
Though, in a way, that is a form of piracy.
