At first i was for more english dub but after a month of subs and all the voice actors i feel that the english dub is kind of a let down. I think i get a better feel for what they wanted people to get out of the anime in sub. The sub actors are trying more than the english dub actors it feels like and we maybe have 50 dub voice actors where sub has far more. I dont know just something ive noticed.

Japan has a lot more voice actors/actresses than anywhere else for anime, the reasons being obvious. English dub actors try hard too, they don't want to lose their jobs after all. We have more than 50, but nowhere near the number Japan dishes out.

well give english dub roster voices are in 4 sets of area of texas, new york, canada, & california areas as known place for english dub anime.

besides give how many dubs come in per year from each of 4 areas dub zone.

When I first started anime I was only watching dubs. Hated subs. Now all I watch is subs. Can't stand dubs now as none of the voices truly seem to fit the character. So im perfectly fine with just subs.

Of course there are some dubs that fit perfectly with the voice like full metal alchemist. But most of them dont have a nice voice fitting the characters. Atleast that what it seems like to me since I got into subs.

The dubs coming out today are of a good quality. I don't think they lose out to subs at all, any more.

It would be nice to see CR get access to dual audio Anime in the future =3

My husband is dumb and cant read well, so he NEEDS dubbed anime XD

I would love more dubbed anime - it would allow me to multitask better. With writing for my website, keeping up on a dozen communities, gaming, and other tasks... multitasking is important lol

I love dubbed anime. I really believe the reason that subbed anime beats out dubbed anime because people get subbed anime faster than they get dubs. as far as if one is better than the other that's a matter of opinion. though I will say that dubs don't suck like they used to. and I prefer dubs over subs. But lately I've been watching more subs than dubs here on crunchyroll.

I want to watch Spice and Wolf but i can't enjoy the subs or the dubs... :/

Would it be nice if CR had some more English dubbed stuff? Yeah, but I'm not gonna be too disappointed if they'll never get any more dubbed stuff. Not that I'm a dub-hater (I'm actually a huge dub supporter), but I guess it's just I've always associated with CR being the go-to site if I ever wanted to watch the new shows that are coming out in Japan, that I just don't really think about dubs all that much.... if that makes any sense.

Unless the dubbers really step up their game I don't see anything good coming from it. There are some older shows and movies with really good dubs, but even big shows like Naruto can't justify employoing good voice actor it seems.

The culture and tradiition of voice acting is huge in Japan and actors can make or break shows by themselves. Unless a show is known to have put the required resources behind (like Hellsing or Cowboy bebop) it I don't see any reason why dubs should be sought out.

Okay, I have seen my fair share of bad dubbing. Nothing ruins an anime then bad dubbing. Hell, there are anime I cannot even watch more than a few minutes because the dubbing lags.

Still, I got to ask, "Why ever pick subtitles over good dubbing?" Is it a purist "thing"? Sort of cool to watch anime that is subtitled in Japanese? Sort of a bragging "thing"? Don't get me wrong, I am a purist with so many things and will definitely watch anime that is subtitled if dubbing is not present or poor quality. I have watched a GREAT deal of subtitled anime!

So here is my complaint with subtitles, women do not sound sexy and they all sound sort of the same! Hey, it sounds like I am knocking the language, but it is just the way my English ear picks it up! The "boys" sound weird also. It is like preferring to watch Metropolis (the 1927 movie) with the original elevator music that all blends together instead of the remake with a better sound track! Because I speak English, I sense the differences in tones far better when in my native language.

I know CR's collection is mostly subtitled, and that is cool. Still, this question is for all those purist that prefer subtitles to good dubbing!
