I appreciate english subs and sometimes I prefer it if the Dub is done poorly. However most of the time I prefer Dubs since not having to read and watch helps with the immersion factor especially modern Dubs because there are a lot more good dubs now then say 12 years ago. Funimation for example almost always does fantastic dubs. I also like the Dubs of Key Anime and Madhouse Anime. Point is I like to see more dubs everywhere because it shows there becoming more accepted by the anime community as a whole which I gladly welcome.

Never liked dubs.. I only watched dubs for one anime and that was Dragon Ball + Z because Goku didn't sound like a dang premature Japanese kid. Dubs sound so weird to me.. Subs are just natural, easy, and fit in most of the time.

I don't understand people who say that they can't read subtitles because it's "too hard" or "it makes one read too much."

so which is when to wonder if plans to extend anime watching on crunchy if also include lots of dubs anime.

sure it help a bit more to expand show anime in other languages besides you're on wonder if crunchy like to work-merge other anime dub company as well?

I think the FMA dubs are well done.

I use to only watch dubs, hated subs. But now im all into subs and cant stand dubs anymore haha. But I dont mind dubs if they are well done, which some of them are actually done. Though it is rare to find a good dub that has all the right voices.

I think it would be a lot harder to get a large range of dubs. Since most dubs are done by companies that have there own video website were they display the dubs.

The first on the pops into my mind is Funimation. They have a nice assorntment of just subs but nothing compare to CR department of subs. But they own a large majority of the DUBs videos and they are played on there own website.

I didn't even know CR had dubbed anime. That's pretty cool.

So here is my complaint with subtitles, women do not sound sexy and they all sound sort of the same! Hey, it sounds like I am knocking the language, but it is just the way my English ear picks it up! The "boys" sound weird also. It is like preferring to watch Metropolis (the 1927 movie) with the original elevator music that all blends together instead of the remake with a better sound track! Because I speak English, I sense the differences in tones far better when in my native language.

I know CR's collection is mostly subtitled, and that is cool. Still, this question is for all those purist that prefer subtitles to good dubbing!

I guess it depends on your definition of "sexy". Chiwa Saito as "Hitagi-chan" on "Bakemonogatari" & "Nisenmonogatari" sounded pretty sexy to me.

Also, while some do hate the ultra high squeaky sounding voices of most female Seiyuu from Japan, many more like myself actually find them adorable. Especially for the more Moe or Otaku type anime shows. To a lot of fans they probably work better because they prefer something outrageously cute sounding than what passes for just a plain old "sexy" voice they're used to hearing over here.

The closest equivalent in the American dubbing talent pool would be actresses like Monica Rial or Sarah Williams. And even they may not get them right every time.

someone needs to just cut Crunchyroll a check for $5,000,000 already.

This is solely my personal preference, so I don't intend to offend anyone

I'm not a fan of dubs at all. When anime's get licensed for rebroadcast and dubbing, they rarely hire the right voice actors to voice the part. Honestly, if I had the need to hear the anime in English, I would rather listen to a synthesized Stephen Hawking voice-over than some of the "voice talent" they hire to voice the English dubs.

If CR can acquire licencing to broadcast some anime in dubbed English, that's fine ... but do everyone a favor, don't make it the default audio track.

Just another voice in the crowd, but it's way too common to get disappointed when it comes to dubbed content. Sure there are exceptions once every full moon but the rule of thumb would still be original > dub IMO.

The reason most people don't like English Dubbed is because they don't like the Voice Actors.

That, in turn, also means they have not heard an anime that had voices they truly appreciate. Eureka Seven is in my opinion one of the most underrated anime. BOTH the languages were equally well-played. But that was the best display of English voice acting I have ever heard (Next to Ghost in the Shell, of course)
