Oda has said in past interviews that he would like to follow Toriyama's footsteps and do one shots but the door was still open now it's for sure but after so many years of greantess he deservs a rest and there's still plenty years left until One Piece is completed

i don't see why people always say... one piece is gonna end in like 10-15 years
Oda Could finish it within 5 years if he wanted, i mean we are in the new world, taking a year for like each island, 5 islands could be enough to seal the story, Moreover to show Dragon, the marines, the four emperors and create this climax war for this one piece.

Its just my opinion

seeing as they just got past the halfway point, there is still plenty story left. and i hope it goes on for a while. One piece has been the only really long series for me that didn't feel like a drag from some point onward.

It's like when Konomi-sensei said that the past 8 years of work for over 300 chapters of Prince of Tennis were a mere prologue for his "New Prince of Tennis"
