Watching lolicon will not make you want to have sex with little girls. If you harbor such desires then you have some deep seated issues and they would be present regardless of what media you consumed, The idea that sexual or violent images create that type of behavior is ignorant and dangerous as it's simply scapegoating. I've been taking martial arts for 20 yrs and love MMA yet I've never been in a "real" fight nor do I wish to...

actually, the idea that media does not DEEPLY impact us and completely shape our culture, is IGNORANT and DANGEROUS...martial arts is not the same thing IN ANY WAY as violence in video games, or going into the military and being trained to fight TO KILL...i feel like MMA is about controlling your strength, to make your body more intelligent as you move through this world....so that is probably why you don't feel an agressive tendency to fight people all the time. so good for you, but just because you have learned in a healthy way to control your desires, therefore controlling your will, doesn't mean that THE MAJORITY of people who consume any type of cultural media, are not socialized (UNTIL YOU CAN OPEN YOUR EYES AND BREAK THROUGH IT) ....and deep seated issues...DO come from the media some times.

like when men think it is hot to rape girls...a big portion of that is because of how the porn industry, as well as many movies and tv shows have SEXUALIZED VIOLENCE. ...and the more agressive porn you watch at a younger age, will create a tolerance almost for what turns you on, and throughout the years what you desire and what you search for will get more and more agressive...so then by the time your like 30 you may think its really really really hot to completely dominate over a girl, beating her, whipping her, making her cry, maybe even blood will turn you on...but this would be a shock to someone who has not been exposed to this type of sexual violence before...and would not be turned on.

No, I don't do Lolicon. I generally stay as far away from kids, and my definition of kids is fairly broad. Because I watch anime with a lot of Moe or I find Ryo Kyo Bu cute doesn't make me a degenerate. Degenerates sit in school parking lots just to watch the kids play.

Several friends of mine travelled to Japan and explored Akihabara for long enough until they saw loli stuff in several store shelves, some of the publications sold there have warnings that state that all the characters are at least 18 years old (especially the newer, non doujin items). It would be very interesting to see how the legal system might respond to someone who has that kind of stuff in a country where it's illegal.

btw, I don't think it's okay to arrest someone for looking at drawings that are in poor taste, maybe a few people will get desensitized to it, but that's not an excuse to put everyone in the same category as a sexual offender who abuses children after looking at that type of content. Creating an anti-lolicon law based solely on the assumption that you're going to do something worse when you break it is often ignorant of the individual's purpose of owning the material in the first place.

Why ARE people anal about this? It's not like if I watch porn, I'm going to go rape someone. It's just like violent video games: just because I play as a guy with a gun, does not mean I'm going to go on a killing spree.

As long as you are in control of your actions in real life, it doesnt matter at all what you watch. At least thats what i think.

Wait, did you just compare violence in video games to being a trained killer in the armed forces? Rant much? There are no sound studies that suggest violent video games produce violent people. It may cause a latently violent person to act out, but it was going to happen anyway. You can't blame everything on the media. Humans are savages, Our DNA is still the same it was 20,000 years ago. The Romans, Crusaders, and Aztecs all butchered millions of people. look at Africa. You think they play call of duty in Rwanda? get your facts straight before you go off on me please.

Damn, I just read the first part of your post and now the second. All that violence against women stuff you mentioned. I've never seen that in mainstream media to games. I would first blame the piece of shit that enjoys doing that to a woman and if any media would be to blame (and there are studies against this as well) it would be fringe pornographic material were they glorify that behavior. And I'm not sticking up for that in any way. It's should be illegal IMO...

Unless there is something VERY wrong with you- and you see a loli in a real life human, it's okay.
I'm a lolicon myself- I watch a lot of loli anime, but have you seen me on the news for harrassing a child?
Check my personal info. Then apply it to what I just said. Anything wrong with that?
There is a difference between Lolicon and Pedophile- lolicons are those who have an interest in ANIME (not real) young girls. The latter is for REAL young girls.
Yes, it is often assumed that if you are one, then you are the other- but that isn't true.
For example, let's say you watch- and have an interest- in yaoi. Just because you like does not mean you are then a yaoi- only that it is something that entertains you. The opposite is true.
It's true that it does influence you somewhat, but that depends on how firm a grip you have on reality. If you are at the point where it's all just a blurry line between reality and fiction- go see a therapist.
In the end- loli anime are only applying to a part of the fanbase, whether you are that in real life, or if you just enjoy it in anime.
You can like loli anime AND not be a lolicon. Same with the yaoi.
If you have permission to watch R rated loli anime because they are just drawings, then why should it be wrong to watch it?
...At least you watch it for the taboo-ness... I...watch it for the lolis... feel good about yourself...

*claps* Bravo! I think this argument is now invalid after this.

Woah! Back up a little because you're sounding a little crazy. Don't talk like you can predict pathological social behavior, at least wait until you can differentiate you're from your and yore. Don't be so quick to judge others, or assume you have any idea what they are thinking or intending.
Following your rant here makes me worried that you consider bombing strip clubs or Hooters restaurants or something. You're taking this waaaaaay too seriously, and pulling in a lot of separate issues that are not necessarily related to each other at all, not to mention how hostile and aggressive you are being towards moneygrip3030. I don't think he has done anything to deserve that, in this thread or any other.

Eight year olds don't go to middle school; they are second and third graders in elementary school. Huge difference.
Regardless, watching lolicon anime doesn't make you a pedophile anymore than watching Hellsing makes you a vampire. Don't worry about it unless you want to do H stuff with kids who haven't reached puberty yet. If this is the case then you need a therapist before you hurt someone.
Anyway, you can't blame lolicon anime if you molest kids, and watching lolicon anime won't turn you into a pedo.

Reminds me of a funny quote I saw the other day,
"If its Mc Donalds fault your kids are fat,
is it Hooters fault your husband loves boobs?

Everything is wrong to somebody out there.
Technically every underage kid with a smartphone who snaps nudes of themselves to send to their bf/gf is distributing child porn. Kids have been charged with it in the US. Even though it's still legal for them to have sex with each other.
Wrong?
Right?

I think treating child molesters worse than murderers is wrong.
I think people who cheat millions of people into poverty are worse than murderers.

But then, what do I know.
I think old people should be put on a rocket and fired into the sun.
