Dont hide it. And if people look down upon it, or say false things then correct them. Yes, some people will think anime is for kids, and others will think its just perverted because of one or two things they have seen. Just tell them the truth and teach them about what its really about. And lets face it, if you tell someone you like anime and they become a jerk, then they probably were not a true friend to begin with. Its like people who are into watching sports... Its not for everyone but there is nothing wrong with it.

no i have no reason to hide it. i wont bring it up either unless the ask. if you ask, then ill will admit to my anime hobby. however, if the situation never comes up then i wont say anything.

Nope everyone I know and everyone I work with knows I watch anime and I aint ashamed to admit it cause anime can be very relaxing

I don't hide it and I have a lot of friends that like anime. You should hang out with people who you can talk with that likes your interests. People shouldn't judge you on what you like to do.

I never fear telling people about the fact that I love anime. In fact, Im usually the one to bring it up to someone that I think I would like to be friends with, and I ask them if they like anime. And the answer doesnt matter, but if they do, all the better! On a related note, I am thinking of doing my semester research project on something relating to anime! Though Im not sure of a specific anime topic yet. Any ideas? I love anime!

I kind of feel the same way as you did..none of my friends watch anime and people say that its lame and stuff. But some of my friends know about it and they don't really care, they even sometimes joke about it. and I do have friends that doesn't know about me watching anime but its not like they have to know every bits of my life...so it doesn't really matter. People can like what they like and hate what they don't like  |

I don't hide it.. and every one of my friends knows that I watch anime.... Well I guess that I don't speak about it in school but that is becouse only one person in my class is watching anime and he is a guy I don't speak to often with.

I dont hide me anime people know I love it...people can accept me for who Iam, and I do also do sports as well and if people judge you for watching it then are they truly your friends...I mean among my friends Im the only one who works out and does swimming and still we all get along just fine...
One friend is a teacher and friend is a security guard I run a Warehouse and well we still all love anime our co-workers know this and its accepted.

Nope, I'm NOT ashamed of who I am or what I watch... TRUE FRIENDS accept who I really am, my personality and my behavior, otherwise they wouldnt even be my friends. PEOPLE CAN SAT WHAT THEY WANT about me, I dont care AS LONG AS I FEEL that I am doing the things that I like which is Anime/J-Culture etc etc...I once had a few friends that dont watch anime and stuff, I just introduced it to them, whether they liked it or not and I sorta converted some of them to Japan Lovers, I mean, whats not to love about J A P A N ?!?!
I can tell you that almost 60% of my friends are otakus, so I have alot to RELATE / DISCUSS with them. TRUE COMPANIONS they are

Nah, if somebody asks me if I like anime, I'll say yes. Really, it's not something I reveal to someone unless they ask about it, but I'm not ashamed to like it.
