It's not something I really hide, though I don't go all "DUDE I LIKE ANIME DO YOU!?" on everyone. If I'm talking to someone sure I'll say I like it, if they seem the type of person that wouldn't stop talking to you because you like something different. I have watched it in school before (My school has free Wi-Fi, and I have an iPod) :D

Do I hide the fact I watch anime?
*looks down at anime shirt, looks around at the "public"* Well... if they don't look at my shirt or my room, computers, etc; they'd never know I liked anime. And if they don't talk to me, they won't find out I like Japan either. My hobbies and opinions are very hush hush you see. |

If they refuse to even give Toradora or Clannad a chance then thats their loss. Personally Clannad After Story is number 1 of my top 5 and Toradora is like number 3. Hell the only Shounen that makes it to my top 5 is Gintama and thats just because it's so funny, i'll take a show with great story over one with huge fight scenes anyday. If you only watch one genre then you miss a lot of great anime. |

In the past, I would feel extremely pressured to hide the fact that I watch anime...because of my personality and interests I find myself around people who don't watch anime and usually think it's weird. I'm a lot more open about it nowadays seeing as to how it's my life and I shouldn't be embarrassed about these kinds of things. I also listen to J-pop and am still self-conscious about that too..as far as others hearing me listening to it. Does anybody feel the same way or maybe used to and just got over it like I'm trying to? When I was younger I felt the same way because the majority of the people that I knew that watched anime were VERY socially awkward and didnt know how to make friends that had interests outside of their own so I always had 2 sets of friends. Then I moved back home and all my old friends were all into anime and no one felt the need to hide it at the school I went to so I felt a lot more comfortable talking about it. I find that its easier for me to befriend someone who has well rounded interests that include anime. |

It kind of matters, if it's ecchi or mature like Yosuga no Sora or Highschool DXD, not really
If it's weird, like Senran Kagura, no If it's drama, tragedy or something like that, Anohana, Tari Tari, yes music, AKB, K-On, yes or no depending on who it is Horror, Another, Higurashi, yes if it' has the right amount of gore and the right amount of comedy overall, I do advertise it a bit, but usually based on genre |

I dont think a show needs comedy in it but it does help. I tend to enjoy seinen stuff more than shounen is what I mean because they tend to have better stories and the action tends to be less overblown but more bloody. |

Going to Calgary, Alberta for a trip ^-^ ~ Visiting some friends :D

The last time I allowed someone to see that I watch anime was in college with my roommates I gained one amazing friend and had two roommates spend two years complaining that I should grow up and do things with them that they liked (like watch Hannah Montana and other Disney Channel shows) and that me watching anime made it hard for them to come in my room and ask if I wanted to do things with them. Those were some rough two years on top of my parents just not liking me talking to them about anime. Because of that I keep my anime and manga to myself.
If someone finds out about me and anime I don't hide it, but every time (with the one stated exception) I've told someone about it space forms and eventually they stop talking to me. So I actively don't tell anyone about/allow anyone to see me watching anime. When I lived with my parents, I kept my anime and manga in a bookshelf in my closet so they wouldn't have to give me "the look" every time they came in to my room. |

Nah I have only barely touched Bleach aswell. I have watched lots of anime but Gintama is the only long running one i'm in to. I think if I tried to watch a show with such a long story and so much filler I would get bored. Plus I like my stories to have an ending and not just stretch on forever. |
