nope, why? It's a freedom for one to choose what they like and wanna do :))

I'm open about it, but if I have friends that don't like it, I just don't bring it up. Most of my friends like anime anyways, so it's not a big deal.

my parents know about it. they always try and blame everything on it albeit in a light tone.

in case some one asks me, i tell them that i watch/read anime/manga.
any "you watch cartoon? LOL" comments lead to me simply displaying my middle finger.

yes and here is why

1) Anime has a social stigma thanks to the early 90s where it was publicly advertised as tits and gore entertainment.
1a) Because of this stigma it can affect your career and who you make friends with.

2) Let's face it anime has moved from tits & gore to something worse. Incest, moe, lolita garbage.

3) While we don't mind the inherent weirdness of Japanese culture everyone else would be terrified of it.

I don't hide it but if nobody asks then I won't tell. I don't go around boasting about it.

I don't hide it, but at the same time, I don't actively go around flaunting it. If someone happens to find out, that's cool. If not, it's not something I frequently talk about. I'm far more likely to start discussing a book I'm reading or something.

Nope I don't hide it at all. I really don't care who knows, if they have a problem with it or try making fun of me they are wasting their time. I'll also listen to some J-rock and such without caring. In fact I've met some really nice and interesting people while wearing an anime shirt that they recognized. If it's a hobby or something you like take pride in it, it doesn't matter what others think.

I don't, flat out.

Everybody can deal with what I enjoy, if they can't they can get in line and choke my dick.

I don't really talk about it but I have begun to watch it at work on my lunch breaks and before I would have never done that. At a certain point, I decided I would rather enjoy my lunch break more and watch it then sit in silence just because I didn't want people looking at me funny.

Honestly, people don't care about what your into as much as you think they do. Share away, odds are they are not gonna give two shits unless they are into it as well.

I don't hide it, but I don't advertise it either. If I decide to wear some anime apparel it's usually stealth-level. Things like emblems and vector-type art that looks stylish without people knowing what it actually is.

In regards to talking about it I don't advertise that either. If someone asks me what I was doing last night and I was playing video games, drawing, and watching anime, I'll tell them I was playing video games, drawing, and watching anime.

Through taking that kind of casual route to others in regards to anime I've managed to unintentionally turn two of my friends into anime fans.

Just don't act like you should be embarrassed about it and people shouldn't bother you for it.

That's exactly what I do, Like example I have a Sailor moon crisis broch necklace thingy and a lot of people think it's adorable. They don't know that it's from an anime and I'm wearing it fashionably.

Right when I came out of my mother's womb, I've always loved anime. I'm pretty sure everyone loved anime at one point -- think about Pokemon, Yu-gi-oh, Digimon, etc.

Everyone pretty much knows that I watch anime/read manga. I have a good decent group of friends and only one of them (my best friend) watches anime like I do.

There's nothing wrong with watching it. It's not anime that defines us as who we are, and if people can't get past that, then they' aren't even worth your time.
