Do you hide the fact that you watch anime?
|
No, but for some reason people can figure out that I like to watch Anime even though I don't even wear anything Anime related.

|
I don't deserve anything.

I don't bother actively hiding it, but that's about it. I'll "like" anime pages on facebook so most of my friends probably are aware of it to some degree, but I don't buy or wear merchandise or bring up the topic in real life.

Bro I'm in college too, I like girls as well and to be honest, I openly admit that i love anime and and J-pop. I play exit trance in my car. Just be cool about who you are and what you do. People will like and respect you just for that. You might have a couple of bros who'll bag you for it, but just bag on them back, it's all in good fun anyways.

I'm too young to be getting too old for this.

If someone asks me what I was doing last night and I was playing video games, drawing, and watching anime, I'll tell them I was playing video games, drawing, and watching anime. Through taking that kind of casual route to others in regards to anime I've managed to unintentionally turn two of my friends into anime fans. Just don't act like you should be embarrassed about it and people shouldn't bother you for it. That's exactly what I do, Like example I have a Sailor moon crisis broch necklace thingy and a lot of people think it's adorable. They don't know that it's from an anime and I'm wearing it fashionably. I would know where it's from. And i would totally shout it out, throw my hands up in joy and high five you randomly. I've done it, trust me |

Can you not?

Psssh hide it? I don't care who knows that I like anime. I have friends that do and the ones that don't say nothing to criticize. If they did I'd tell em to cram it up their arse. I am who I am.

I troll live broadcasts. Just so ya know.

Nope, I try to get people to watch.

I used too when I was in high school. No one knew about it besides my sisters and maybe like one close friend. There was a group of people at my school who were into manga and anime and they were pretty much the outcasts. I was friends with them, but to be honest they were strange. I had told someone before about my interest and they totally thought I was weird/lame. So, I just kept it to myself for a long time. Honestly, until about a year ago it really came out. Now everyone just kind of laughs at it or thinks it cute. It's almost like it's become apart of my personality. They get it because it's me and it's what I like.

The fact that I watch anime is out there for the world to know- I don't really mind.
But...Although I don't hide the FACT that I watch anime, I do hide the anime that I actually watch... |

Aliens? Time-Travelers? ESPers? Count me out...

I did use to hide it in my early teen years because no one else seem to have the same interest but once i got older which im now 22 (im not that old) if i watch it in public and someone is curious and say whats that and i tell them. Usually they'll loose interest and try to say something to get away or they'll say something negative like " aren't you a little to old for cartoons". Which i respond with " do you have a problem with what i watch, ". Then they'll say something stupid to get away.
You can be the most normal person in the world, people are going to think ill of you anyway. As long as you dont try to get other people to have the same interest as you and be annoying. Its ok to be open about it. |

No, most of my friends watch too

Sometimes I just want to dug my own hole to hide in.

I do. I've been dating a girl for 3.5 years and I've hid it from her. She's probably already figured it out, but it is what it is.
The fun hiding story is that I actually worked Ohayocon this year (not with Ohayocon, but as a part of the venue staff). Of course, none of my coworkers could find out, so I just nodded my head at all their anime-con disbelief. |

I don't hide it but I don't just openly go about my days telling people that I do.
I don't think it's embarrassing at all. The only thing that weirds people out is that my personality and the way I look seems to negate all possibilities that I watch anime for some reason. It is what it is and there's nothing to be ashamed of. |
