A big chunk of girls (especially teenage ones) are freaky and a bit fucked up in the head, man.
And while some guys do find it a bit more attractive if a girl plays "hard to get," it is by far a more prevalent condition in women. Because a woman's attraction towards a man is much more focused on how a man makes them feel. Women have the luxury of being a bit more selective than men (in general).
If you make yourself too available, a lot of women aren't attracted by that, and actually will look down on you for it. The mindset may be "if he's so easy to snag, maybe he's simply not worth it, because worthwhile things should be rare and difficult to acquire."
Simply put, once a guy refuses to give a fuck, a lot of women become attracted to that. It shows self-respect, self-dependence, self-confidence, and a bit of a rugged edge. You're not on your knees pleading for that woman, bending over backwards to accommodate her every whim.

Hmm. Yes, I see now. You're thinking in a strictly modern societal view. One of abundant resource and leisure. You see, women in general, are weaker than men. This is not up for dispute. When we didn't have fancy homes, nice cars, and guns, women did in fact need to be protected by men from competition and predators. In fact, it's still the same today in many less advanced societies. Many still act upon this natural process because it's in our very nature. This too, can not be disputed.
Most species have the same hierarchy. Men protect the females, and fend off competition and predators.

1. I was adopted and my biological mother didn't view me as her kid. She said I was more my adopted mothers kid than her own.
2. My adopted mother told me she never wanted to be a mother and said my dad forced her to adopt us just to keep her in his life.

With the last year(s) still fresh on mind, and so many possible motives for their behavior, the farther I can get away from them the longer my life is going to be.
That being said, there are a lot of people who find themselves magnetized toward a "tsundere" personality for any number of reasons.

I appreciate your input. It's not exactly that I made a big fuss about it, I thought of it as non-committal myself. When word fully circulated that I had "asked out" three separate girls in the span of almost 3 months SHTF.

I pretty much agree with this. I, personally, am very attracted to guys with an "I don't give a fuck" attitude mainly because clingy, overly needy, and jealous guys piss me off. I need my space; and a guy who feels absolutely no need to be fawning over me and "taking care" of me every second of every day is more my type. Besides, if a guy is continuously pursuing girls (or pursues more than 1 at a time) then it must mean they're not looking for anything specific -- any willing female is fine. I don't like that at all. I'm not interested in being added to anyone's list. I don't know about those other girls, but this is my personal opinion.

That was my whole point. Apparently some people took offense and my guess is that's due to their general lack of female interaction, or they have no game...

Science holds the answer, but women don't like the conclusion science has drawn.
Because it labels a large portion of women as complete slaves to their unconcious hard-wired bullshit actions (Which many if not most will immediately deny. I.E. I like X Y Z in a guy, when they never date that kind of person), that no longer apply to our modern society, but are still adhered to regardless.
Just find someone who isn't a blithering idiot and you may be happy.
