Moe is just a trope, just like anything else in entertainment. To ask if people like moe is like asking if people like giant robots, or hot-blooded teen boys fighting for justice, or tsundere friends of the aforementioned boy. The list could go on, but you get it.

My grandpa told me something that I live by. "Opinions are like orgasms. I care about mine, and your's only matters if you're my significant other... and even then I sometimes only pretend to care." If you like moe, then that's your thing. I personally dislike most harem anime, but the only thing that it affects is if I continue to watch the show.
A moe character won't turn me off of a show, however. Sometimes I like having a moe intermission in a shōnen like Bleach when Yachiru, Nel, or Orihime pop in to just be plain cute. Even Rukia's silly little drawings made her moe for a second. It's a palette cleanser that can be welcome when done properly. There are still haters of these characters, but those people are usually guys who just want fighting and sports and manly competition and no girls allowed (unless you have big tits, but you aren't allowed to speak)! I'm obviously not one of those guys.

The only thing I don't like about moe is the use of the word by itself. Moe used to mean 'a person that has an affinity for' and placed at the end of a descriptor. For example, the current use of moe should really be Lolicon-moe or kawaii-moe. You are the moe, not the show or characters. Slang evolves though. Sore wa sore wa, hōhōdesu (that is the way it is).
