I would choose SOA because im a gamer and it seems realistic cause we could get that in the next ten years in terms of who i would be id use Neku Sakuraba from The World Ends With You and my thing would be dual wielding like Kirito Next best thing would be Fairy Tail

Most of the anime I watch the world the characters live in seem to be pretty dangerous. If I was to live in any of them I would have to have some of the powers the characters have to keep themselves alive in all the dangerous situations they find themselves in.

That really depends. Just off the top of my head...

Puchimas if I want to stay alive and laugh at all the wacky stuff happening.
Index/Railgun or Brave Story (the manga, if it counts) only if I can be cool and not have to worry about kicking the bucket.
Accel World and Infinite Stratos strike the best balance between personal amusement and mortality.
