No one's forcing you. Just drop the show. I've dropped 12 episode series on the 9th and 10th episode because it had gotten that bad to watch.

Let me guess, School Days

I, for one, watched it for the Nice Boat meme.

@ OP: Nobody's holding a gun to your head to watch bad anime. Don't like it? Don't watch. For every Cowboy Bebop, Eureka Seven, Escaflowne, Macross, Fate/Stay in the Kitchen, Haruhi Suzumiya, and Fullmetal Alchemist, there's dozens of mid- and low-tier shows with cookie-cutter plots.

Why torture yourself? If you don't like an anime, there's no point in wasting 4-5 hours on the off chance it might get better.

Well sir, you have my empathy, I remember watching an anime, where it starts off alright on the first episode, normal school setting boy takes a picture of girl in his cell phone "friend" helps out with his relationship etc.

After episode 3 the series becomes depressing but I carried on because I was "curious", and then I get FACEPALMED in the very last episode.

(If you've seen this you'll know what I'm talking about)

SAO. Dropped it after like 7 episodes, picked it up again because of all of the hype. Figured I dropped it too early and it got better, BUT BOY WAS I WRONG.

EDIT: To answer your question: No, I've never been forced to finish a bad anime.

School Days?

R-15. In hindsight, it was another bad ecchi show.

Seikon no Qwaser... Wasn't really forced to watch it. I just have a no drop policy since I like to finish whatever I start.

I thought it would be hilariously awful... It was just awful.

I forced my self to watch Simoun. I really can't stand yuri. And the show's universe literally doesn't have any males born in it. I was hoping it would give me some appreciation for yuri.
It didn't.

I despised that show, how the hell did it get a full 24 episodes seasons? Even worse how did it get a second series?!

A little tip: It is usually better to use "quote" than "reply", as the latter really doesn't link what you say in any way to the message you are replying to.

Someone that didn't know at least one of the two shows might have thought your were talking about Simoun instead of Seikon no Qwaser.

I actually really enjoyed it. The first season much more so than the 2nd. I knew what I was getting into from the beginning but the plot kept me watching(and the fanservice too). Which is why I felt the second season was kind of disappointing.. Sasha cross-dressing and being incognito for half the season was stupid and it ended at a weird place.

If I don't like it, I drop it. Simple as that.
Watching anime is a hobby, not work (most of the time) and liking anime does not mean I have to like or watch every single anime out there from start to end.
Life's just too short for that.
When I really get the feeling I dislike a series I'll move on to the next without looking back, there's plenty to choose from.

Well I certainly wouldn't say forced, however I have continued watching a few shows I grew to hate, but it depends on a few factors...

• If I want to rip my face off watching it, we're done here, folks.
• If the suffering is short and I really want to thoroughly eviscerate a show from start to finish, (*coughcoughSAOcoughcough*) I might complete it.
•If the torment has been long and drawn out already... I might watch until they finally complete the arc they started on 300+ episodes prior... and then never ever ever watch another single freaking episode again. Don't care how good it gets, don't care who they kill, don't care how great the manga is. Don't.Care. We're done here as well, folks.

That said, I am typically unable to watch more than a couple episodes a night of any show, thus I have a lot of time to choose what I watch next, and I really try to choose shows that I actually think I'm going to enjoy based on either what I've seen and know of it or the recommendations of those whose tastes and opinions I value.
