Anything catch your eye in anime this year?
|
Chihayafuru is pretty amazing. I honestly thought I wouldn't like it but it's possible it might earn my top spot as favorite.

oh but did you ever know, that i had mine on you?

The two shows that have really stood out for me so far this year are:
Vividred Operation Problem Children It does have some great plot, doesn't it? |

There is no reality like my reality.

killerpanda3 wrote: Yeah the anime looks promising this year. I'll probably more on the look out for Hayate no Gotoku S4 to name one in particular. Hopefully it turns out better than Can't Take My Eyes Off You. But all in all, I think we have a good year ahead of us. Can't Take My Eyes Off You wasn't a bad series/season. |

Kotoura-san is awesome! So awesome, such a wonderful surprise. So emotional, such lows and highs.
Vividred Operation is great! Such fun, turn your brain off at the door because it isn't logical but it is gorgeous, beautiful, and fun as I said if you like magical/tech girls in middle school saving the world like Voltron. Chihayafuru 2 is wonderful again, how a poetry card game can be so engrossing I don't know! Perhaps even some romance this year, will see... Little Busters! is great! Too bad they still don't seem to have the first cour up. Not sure if I should call it a new show or not since it started in the fall... Continuing Sakurasou, Shinsekai Yori, Space Brothers, still all great! I love shorts and if you do too, Boku-no-imouto wa "Osaka-Okan" is hilarious. Yama no Susume / Encouragement of Climb is really nice. Mangirl, Ai Mai Mi and Senyu I am still watching but not as excited about as the other two but they're still quite fun. Ishida & Asakura is waaaay out there, be warned but if you have a twisted sense of humor it is funny. Unlimited Hyobu Kyosuke is very cool, a lot of fun. Like Vividred/Voltron above you wonder why they don't just start the fights Docked/Unlimited but what fun would that be??? Oreshura is love/hate for me, so painful to watch but I'm still watching... Da Capa III is fun and beautiful! And bouncy... Amnesia has good music and really interesting visuals, not sure it has a plot yet... Problem Children is interesting. Great music again, interesting concept, watch it! AKB48 is fun, good music again. Galactic singing terrorist elections, what's not to like? Love Live! Fun school idol show with more emotion than I was expecting. Maoyu started off on the right note but the potatoes, corn, oats and beans and barley grow stuff has turned me off. Hopefully it will pick up again... |

Kotoura-san for sure if you're just looking at the new Winter season. I'm undecided about The Unlimited Hyobu Kyosuke, but it seems likely I'll keep watching, though it won't necessarily be a favorite.
Space Brothers, continuing from prior seasons is very, very good, and has moved on from the initial "becoming an astronaut" focus (which I like a great deal) to including a little bit of danger (yielding a good deal of the-good-kind-of-tension now that we know the characters so well). Finally, also continuing from last season, Ixion Saga DT. I have no idea why I enjoy this as much as I do, but I do. I've seen many things that I consider to be "greater" than this, but it's very watchable and fun. There were other things I really enjoyed that came out in 2012 and have now ended (Btooom! comes to mind from last season, and Kuroko's Basketball from Spring 2012 (I think)), but I quickly lose track of what came out when and don't want to bother looking things up. Looking for something short and goofy? You might want to take a look at Bottom Biting Bug. OP, generally repeated in some variation during the show, is stupidly catchy. |

I know it wasn't, the final episodes were really interesting. However, I personally preferred the original style of it since Can't Take My Eyes Off You didn't really have the same humor or plot style, but hey everyone has their opinions |

It wasn't bad but it just wasn't Hayate. |

I heard an anime of Akira will start soon, that should be badass.
Besides that Silver Spoon and Shingeki no Kyojin are what I'm looking forward to the most. I'm also going to check out the Sailor Moon remake. |

Too much anime, too little time!
