Hey i was just wondering what do you guys do when you get nervous. Ex when i'm about to go audition for things i tend to get really nervous , but what do you guys do?

I don't really get nervous when doing things in front of crowds and stuff. The only time I really get nervous is when I get my hair cut.

Well two things that I tend to do is:

1. Positive Mental Reinforcement - A lot of people tend to be their own worst critics. They will use negative language and thoughts towards themselves in their heads, which tends to really bring down morale and self-esteem. So instead use positive language and thoughts, and talk yourself up.

2. Perspective - Putting things in perspective really helps us relax because they help us realize the stakes really aren't as high or dire as we picture it. We're not the only people who have been challenged by this particular situation before, and there are people in the world who really do have it much worse. When we realize that there's really not much to lose, and that failing isn't as bad as we make it out to be, it'll keep us more relaxed and confident.

I have this really bad habit of trimming my fingernails with another fingernail till it's nice and short...(ie my thumb nail with my other thumb)
That's when I'm nervous (in class, before a job interview...)
Uhmm...I try not to do that because my fingernails look bad...
But I am a man, so ef it.

I also crack my fingers/wrist during a test.
Like, really loud though.

I put my fist up to my face when I'm thinking...and I just look mad...lol.

Those are somethings I've noticed I do, when I am nervous.

^^ Good advice, especially the second.

Usually all I have to do is remind myself that tomorrow is another day and whatever I need to do won't kill me, and the anxiety tapers off.

I have a bit of an anxiety based mental illness so I can get quite nervous, you just have to remember that no matter what nerves/panic/stress cant kill you and find things that calm you down, I find certain music, a cup of green tea and playing a game you really need to concentrate on (starcraft, dota etc) pretty much wipes things clear.

back then, i used to be a recreational chairman for my class. i had to do speeches with some alumni (different alumnae every year, giving motivational speeches). one time i even forgot what to say; my mind went completely blank and i got laughed at.
well, tend to play with my hair and id strap (which my friends notice and laugh at too lol)...
i try to make some jokes so i get to laugh along with the audience (laughter makes the nervousness go away)
