Perfect Anime - is it possible?

A few days ago, I was reading a thread that was stating how this anime isn't perfect but I hope it gets better. In reply, one feed quoted it saying that it's impossible to get a perfect anime. That got me thinking... are perfect animes REALLY impossible???

Of course it is bloody hard to create something that everyone loves but is it possible. It's not just anime, any standard product, hardware, utility, media, piece of technology, books, life, death, the earth etc in all of society has two sides, a party that likes it and a party that dislikes it or doesn't even know or care. So therefore it's impossible to create an object, physical or not, to please EVERYONE no matter if your a tramp, a president or even GOD.

But I believe anime isn't the same. Almost every human being on the planet has seen an animation of some sort (if its asian or from Disney or a cartoon strip etc) and I think everyone of them have had a laugh or two from seeing them. We (watching japanese anime here) are just a sub catagory of this ultimatum but still, we are here - Why? - because we enjoy it!
People don't continue watching something that they don't enjoy which leads back to the original question: Is it possible to create an Anime series that this Whole community of anime lovers would like.

Personally I think you could get pretty close to perfection, an infusion of your favorite genres laced with the touch of your own exctasy, even if it's perfection to you, it might be dribble to others. Still, everyone on Crunchyroll has a anime or two to call it a once in a life time masterpiece or a 10/10 memory that will stick with you for the rest of your lives.
Maybe it's anime itself that's perfection, tickling our minds and tugging our heart strings to watch it, and then watch more to recover us from past depressions of finishing a good anime, pulling us into to this glorious cycle of addiction of anime.

So, what's perfection for you? Has there been one that's hit the spot and put a dent in your heart or is it impossible to achieve perfection - what do you think?

I don't think that a perfect anime is possible for everyone to see for obvious reasons such as varying interests. However, I think it may be possible for a perfect anime to exist for a large group to enjoy, but I don't know. Because of people's varying interests, conflicts of interest are bound to occur in a "perfect" anime. I personally think that I've seen a few perfect animes, but that may be contributed to the fact that I accept some possible slip ups in the anime so I can enjoy it to its full extent. To me, perfection is when an anime has a truly heartfelt storyline and everything wraps up well. I had conflicting feelings when I finished Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. To me, it had just the right combination of drama, of action, of twists, etc. So in general perfection is reached when the anime manages to make me actually think and feel satisfied at the end. I may have just restated the question but in the end, to me, perfection is all in the eye of the beholder and will vary from person to person. That's just how people work in my eyes.

there will never be a perfect anything on earth, because there will be AT LEAST ONE person who doesn't agree. there's too many varying factors across too large of an audience for any one thing to be considered perfect.

however, going with the latter part of your post, there are indeed things that one person can consider to be perfect TO THEM. there are several anime that fit into this category for me.

anime which I believe to be perfect for me include (but are not limited to):

Fate/Zero
Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko
Dog Days (series)
Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha (series)

There may be animes that individuals find perfect and would change nothing about but it's definately impossible to make an anime that is perfect for everyone. In my own experience even my most loved: shows, animes, movies etc... have never been perfect though some have been pretty close.

Nothing is perfect so therefore: No, there is and never will be such a thing as a perfect anime.

If there was no individuality and every one like the same thing, then yes, the perfect anime would be possible.

For argument sake, the only thing that's perfect is God. (Just pretend there's a god regardless of whether you believe or not). So, if God would to make an anime, then the answer is yes. Otherwise, a resounding NO.

Its impossible to make a perfect anime since everyone has a different perspective on whats 'perfect'.

Honestly, Angel Beats is the only one that comes close. Its only flaw was that it was too short so character development suffered. I can only imagine how it would have been if it was 24 episodes instead of 12.

For me it would be Durarara!! Perfect amount of: crazy, action, love, friendship, fantasy and violence!
I'm not saying it's my favorite anime, but it's the perfect anime in my opinion. I guess that doesn't really make sense but... I don't care!

You can't appeal to everyone, therefore no perfect anime exists.

Not humanly possible, everyone has there own taste and likes, and theres too many of those likes that conflict with each other. Although, Key Visual does produce some really good stuff

You wouldn't want a perfect anime to exist, because then every studio would immediately try to copy it for the next 4 years
