Is it possible? No. But one anime that has probably impressed me the most was Steins;Gate. It is so underrated, one of my fav anime.

I think we can have close to it. Perfect doesn't really exist.

Sure. In fact it's already been done. All you need to do is define "perfection," and see which shows match the criteria. Since the reason I watch anime is to enjoy myself, I'll define an imperfection as anything that I don't enjoy. Thus, "perfection" just means a lack of imperfections, and any show that I can watch in its entirety without disliking anything is perfect. Therefore, I can say that Voices of a Distant Star and Mushi-shi were both perfect, because there wasn't a single portion that I disliked. If I remember correctly, I think Baccano! may have also been perfect. Notice though, that there are at least 15-30 shows that I'd rank above any of those three; many shows with imperfections rank above the perfect ones. In fact, I don't think there's a single perfect show in my Top 10. In other words, there are things I value more than perfection. I haven't seen a perfect show that I consider a favorite -- so even though I may enjoy a show in its entirety, I may get more enjoyment from a show that has portions that I disliked.

So, my argument rests on only two assumptions. The first is the assumption that I watch anime for the purpose of enjoying myself -- the definition of perfection follows logically from that. The second is that there exists a show that lacks imperfections -- i.e., that I'm not lying when I say that I didn't dislike any portion of Voices of a Distant Star. If those two assumptions hold true, then it is also true that perfect shows exist, and therefore are possible.

Finally, note that the shows that I listed may not always be perfect. If my tastes change, then the shows may no longer be perfect. And just to re-iterate, a show being perfect does not make it the best show. I rated Voices of a Distant Star a 9/10, Mushi-shi a 7/10, and Baccano! an 8/10. Perfection is not necessarily desirable in itself.

Short Answer -- I've seen perfect shows, and I've seen imperfect shows that I like more than perfect ones.

You mean to say that the highest rated show on ANN is UNDERrated?

Damn dude, it makes me wonder how you determine something is underrated. Jokes aside, you're right -- the show is awesome, and definitely one of my favorites.

Perfection in itself is unattainable. There will be no perfect anime, no perfect movie, no perfect person. That is all.

I dont think there is a perfect anime. It could be perfect to you, but to someone else it would not be.

Nothing is truly objectively perfect
On the other hand, you may subjectively think something is perfect

Gurren Lagann is an alright show. just don't go in expecting anything serious. it's more of a parody than anything.

Perfection could be interpreted in multiple ways, long story short, it's based on your own "ideal type"

No such thing. You could have an anime that is so superb that you almost die of shock, but not perfect. You can always find something wrong, whenever it will be one line in the anime that you didnt like or something bigger you didnt like. Every anime will have one or several things you wish were better.

I don't think so since not all everyone have the same taste in anime as others. There is always something people can complain and be critical about in any anime. Also if an anime is even close to being "perfect" it would kinda make it mainstream and some will hate on it just because it is popular and stuff like that.
