Would you rather live in Japan or where you live now? If so why?

Thanks for letting me know. I was totally expecting to instantly have 20 extremely cute girls fall in love with me and fight over me while I am trying to save the world through giant robot fights, card games and sword fights. Until my secret powers were revealed and then everything got kicked up a notch. |

I'd love to move for a couple months at least. I'm actively studying the language, love the culture, and of course the entertainent, so if I could land a steady job and find a place and someone to settle down with, I could see living there for good. Of course im over 6 feet tall and look nothing like the local population so that would be both a blessing and a curse I suppose.

No, because
1. I don't speak the bloody language 2. I like my money not nigh worthless 3. Economics- the west seems to be making recovery, Japan, on the other hand, has been in a recession for quite a while longer than we have. 4. Much more crowded there than here 5. Probably not going to find a job there, seeing as the Japanese can't even stand other Asians (they give them that funny little nickname, Sangokujin), let alone an American Gaijin like myself. And especially a Chinese-American such as myself. 6. Japan just doesn't have the Greco-Roman heritage that we have. And they don't use forks and knives. |

Of course. I am fully aware of the challenges I would face in moving to a country that not only uses a different language but a different alphabat as well. A language barrier wouldn't be the only hurdle though as no matter how naturalized you may become you are still a gaijin to the majority of the populace. The struggles faced by moving to a vastly different country are quite worthy foes indeed. All said and done I know what I would be getting into but am still willing to go if ever given the chance.

Honestly, If I could get a good enough IT job in Japan, I would live there for a little while. Im sure I would get sick of the food, though.

Nope. I'd like to visit Japan, but the idea of trying to live there as a foreign woman who doesn't yet fluently speak the language is not something I'm keen on, given what I know about the general climate over there towards such groups.

It would be cool to visit but I would rather go explore Germany or Italy or somewhere different. I also get tired of the hype about Japan. Don't get me wrong it would be pretty cool to visit or live there but I believe Anime strikes interest in most people as well as Manga so people go Japan crazy especially girls. Yeah I did it too once. Oh yeah and langauge plays a huge part in traveling to other countries. I would feel awkward not knowing their language.

I live in Japan and I don't know why people want to come here and live. I want to go to the US. |

I'd hate to live their, for many reasons mentioned above, but I'd love to visit for a short while. I really love traveling.
