You may be right. After all we all like what we like. But I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at how good those books are. When you do get around to reading them let me know what you think.

Princess Tutu would've shocked me if it wasn't for the hundreds of people insisting before I watched it that it's much better than first impressions would suggest.
I think most other things I found surprising were more in a 'Wow! This isn't terrible!' way than a 'Wow! This is great!' way, haha. |

Girls und Panzer. The concept was so completely absurd that I couldn't imagine anything worthwhile would come of it. Instead, it turned out to be a favorite of mine this season.
Also, Usagi Drop. I had heard good things, but was completely unprepared for the depth of gentleness and respect with which the characters were both treated and imbued. |

Check out "Eon"or "The City at the End of Time" by Greg bear and "A Fire Upon the Deep" by Vernor Vinge when you have the time. I think you will be very happy you did. If I had to list one then "The City at the End of Time" would be it. Also any Sci-fi from Dan Simmons will blow you away. "Illuim" for example... Start with Bear though as he's amazing and a good gateway drug into hard mind blowing Sci-Fi. Thank you for the suggestions. I'll certainly read a few of them. Although I don't believe they will be as great as Madoka, if they even reach a fraction of Madoka's greatness, reading them will be well worth my time. And I thought I liked Madoka. She will be pleased to have a loyal subject as devoted as yourself. Do not let our lord and savior down! |

Are you okay with your current position?

The final arc of Digimon Tamers definitely caught me off guard.
It wasn't so much the content that shocked me, but the fact that it was appearing on a show I remembered seeing as a kid on Saturday mornings. Some of the imagery would be just plain nightmarish for an 8-9 year old kid. Mind rape, torture, and Lovecraftian abominations in my Digimon? It's more likely than you think. Helluve a rewatch bonus if you're feeling nostalgic. |

If I had a type it'd be you, fortunately I don't have a type so please stop.

moneygrip3030 wrote: Actually now that I think about it Berserk shocked me a bit since it was so raw and straight up manly, and of course awesome.Except for the bullshit ending. The fact that they just said fuck it and ended it like that definitely shocked me. In Berserk they didn't just say fuck it and end it like that, the first episode is actually the last and by no means the end of the story as the manga is still going on today. That being said the ending did confuse me a bit. If you like the series you should read the manga. I wouldn't say any anime has shocked me, the first animes I watched were fist of the north star and legend of the overfiend when I was about 8 so nothing could really shock me after that. I was a little surprised I love one piece so much but I don't know why I was surprised. |

I wouldn't say it's because it was different, but for me it's Kuroko no Basuke. It was just utterly epic. Every episode just left me stunned.

The depression that I feel due to the end of Sakurasou is unbearable
