that is why it is an illusion because in reality it hasn't saved any lives. I'm not saying that at no point has having a gun saved an individuals life, what I am saying is a lot more people would be alive if there were much stricter gun laws. Just compare America'[s fatal shootings with others countries with stricter gun control.

I would absolutely let anybody kill me at any moment. In fact, I regularly tell anybody that hates me to come and kill me.
Thats not heroic, its just suicidal. If you ask me i would use a weapon to threaten first. Scare them into keeping their distance, then see if you can help them. Naturally if there was a high chance of me losing my life, and there was no means of escape, i would rather take their life. Its normal for humans to value their own lives over others.

If we are all equal, then why is that person attacking you in the first place? He should treat you with equal love and concern that he would his with his family or himself.
Why wouldn't a sane person want to kill just to live? Because the person you just killed could have easily been a future friend of yours, but you never gave them the chance to prove that they could change.
Why didn't he first ask for your hand in friendship and help, rather than threaten your life?
See, this is why your logic fails. You're claiming that there is equality, but in the same sentence claiming that one person should break that equality to change the outcome through specific actions that are outside of being realistic. It's a fallacy known as reification.

I has a sword. It does have a blade, so it's technically illegal. I doubt it would actually have the strength of an actual combat sword.
But violent crime around here only happens to people asking for it. So i'm not worried a lick about it. I keep myself away from weapons really. My sword was a gift, else I wouldn't have any weapons. If someone really wanted to kill me, then I'd die most likely, since I don't have anyone testing my food for poison nor do I have anyone searching my house/vehicles for bombs. I may love action in shows, but in reality I am a pacifist. Revenge begets revenge. Shock and awe only works if the world is left standing afterwards.

I don't, unless you count things like bats and kitchen knives haha~
I absolutely could not feel safe owning weaponry. As neat as weapons are, they just make me feel uncomfortable. I would also never kill another human, though I suppose I couldn't say I wouldn't under fear or mental stress as I've never been in the situation. But if I could help it, I'd never kill another human. I have very strong pacifistic beliefs.
I have no opinions on the guns rights issue, as I'm not very knowledgeable on the subject matter.

I always feel like I would sleep walk in to it and it would fall in to my hands and I'd walk in to someone and cut them then next thing you know I'm in prison and they make films about me like Amityville the boy who machete'd his family because the house told him to. This or, the murderer or whatever would come in and take it anyway, I'd rather rely on my ability to distract people.

I own no weapons and have no need for them. Although, in the near future I would like to go to the gun range just for the hell of it.
