I do hear stories of people getting stalked, etc. and again, never happened to me. If someone got weird enough I always was able to block them.

So maybe it's bad of me to think this way but....I wonder what the person being stalked did to get the attention of a horny stalker type person on any forum/chat/etc. I always feel there was some PM between the two that spurs the horny person into stalking and then the stalkee plays victim over it.

I could just be bias with that mentality advertising puts in our heads...sex sells, and when you see someone dress sexy they're just asking for it, so they're responsible in part for what happens.

Not saying people shouldn't restrain themselves though.

Like, I knew a girl who got a high reputation to be stalked on a game years back. She was 16 and well developed for her age. She constantly would run to me or other Game Masters/Mods (I was often the one getting run to as I did all the player complaint stuff) about stalkers, and true enough she'd have a lot of boys/men being a bit creepily stalkish with her. I read the logs and find a lot of them talking about how she was sharing nudes over live cam with them. So I talk to her about it, she's claiming it's all lies. Now, back then I had 2 personas...my Game Master and my Event Master. My game master I played as my real gender, female, etc. But my in game character everyone thought I was male and I played it as such. And I was high ranking because I had no life and played a lot. So she contacts me and asks to be friends, blah blah. Next thing I know she's sending me video invites because she wanted to show me the cookies she was eating and BAM, I'm looking at a half nude under age chick.

She was reported and removed from her messenger and with that much proof riding on her, she was banned from the game also because of all that commotion she caused. She's probably in her 20s now and has a whole lot of nudes all over the net most likely. :/

I honestly can't say I've seen or even heard of much stalking or weirdness on this forum and I'm really glad there's a place on the internet that's mostly civil and dare I even say... mature o_O

.Ah stalking,my favourite past time...not.I think everyone should have some sort of privacy,and besides who has the time and energy to stalk someone in the first place?not anyone with a job at least.

As for what she/he did to get that much attention,well there are alot of lonely people out there with many unfulfilled needs.Maybe its the sign of the times,people prefer to stay single,rather than pair up with someone....also people are very picky.Which i can understand...the freedom tastes so sweet and no one should be forced to be wtih someone.But there are times that i wish i had some reason to go back home,other than to sleep and eat.

....SO the lesson of the story is:be careful what you wish for?if you want attention,you get it....in good or bad.

ah couln't resist the temptation to say that,but dont worry...there aren't many people who have tuime and energy to stalk.so chances are you'll never have one.^^
