I went once. Would have loved to go with a friend, but didn't have any that would go at the time. I had a good time, though. Just try to make conversation with people and you might find someone to tag along with. I ended up with a couple buddies to walk around with for each day I went.

In recent years, I went to cons by myself and I still had a fun time. My sisters also go to cons, but not together due scheduling conflicts and different interests.

I've never soloed a con but there are parts where I go off on my own since I was the only one interested in that event. I haven't had scheduling issues with any of the people I've gone with but that's probably because we go in a larger group and I make the schedule. Lol. I make a schedule based off of the things I wanna do and put alternate events for those I know wouldn't be interested in that event.

I've also made random friends while waiting in line for an event and we ended up palling around with some of them throughout the weekend or we just ended up running into each other a lot over the course of the con. Random friends have shown me some cool things I wouldn't have noticed otherwise.

I'm hoping to make some new local friends this year at Nekocon. I miss having other people to talk to about otaku stuff. :'(

I usually never end up "alone alone" because I have roommates and stuff. But often they don't really hang out much, and are off doing their own thing. Usually depending on what I'm cosplaying, I can find people to hang out with, however!

I've only started going to cons in the last year, and I don't know anyone who shares the same interest. So I kind of have to.

In my opinion, going to a con alone can be a bit.... lonely. It's a lot more fun going to a con with your friends, from what I've experienced. Part of what makes a great con experience are the people that you enjoy it with!

And if you don't have any friends to go to a con with.... make some at the con!! You're all there because you have similar interests, so strike up a conversation with someone and make friends~

I'm planning on going to Sakura-Con 2014. It'll be my first time, and I don't know anyone who wants to go with me so I might have to drag some non-anime friends or go alone. What I'm really looking forward to is taking pictures of cosplayers. Photography is a big hobby of mine, and anime conventions sound like an awesome place to practice photography.

Maybe we should start a Crunchyroll group for Sakura-Con.

On the first (November) I will be going to my first convention and will most likely will be going alone.... But there is no way in hell I will be missing it.

Going to panels alone is fine. You get free stuff and the people locally sitting near you can talk.

Finding a rare goody is very rewarding at a place like that than compared to online. If you like shopping, there is plenty to do there.

I'm probably going to go to my next convention alone. I'll be pissed if I am miserable without anything to do as a single go-er.

I went to Anime Boston 2012 alone, it was alright.

Though it seems I'll be doing most conventions alone from this point onward as the fellow who would once go with me has pretty much lost interest in the whole convention scene.

I would be down for a Sakura Con group. None of my professional or work friends are really into anime or gaming, so it's really hard to find people who like these things. I've also grown apart from my friends who do like these things, so I am usually solo at these things.

I would recommend against going to an anime convention by yourself. A few years ago I tried that and in my experience it isn't loner friendly. Sure, there are lots of people there, but unless you're very outgoing then you're gonna have a tough time meeting anyone there.

Eeee... Well I plan on going to a Con next year January. I've never been to one before and I'm super anti-social. Just the thought of going to it makes me anxious, but my friend that I met online really wanted me to go. We both have our tickets and I've known her for about 3 or so years. I'm not like super duper into anime like most people. I want to cosplay as someone idk who though. For me seeing a bunch of happy people kinda makes me sad. I feel like I'd start crying I'm so nervous about all this. It's kinda sad when you can count all of your friends on one hand. I want to make more friends, but I'm too quite. D":

I went to NYCC by myself this year and I enjoyed it really. The only time it was really annoying was the waiting in line. I'm just generally uncomfortable being surrounded by so many people and that close to one another. Outside of that, I pretty much planned everything I wanted to do out so I was always active and kept my mind off the fact that I was there with nobody with them. Of course there was also the fact that I was there for the first time and it was also my first con so I was just taking it all in and was just all around too excited.
