Click to show or hide I actually like character plush in addition to dakimakura pillows, but I think what ultimately got me into daki were that sometimes, a character's face/artists style doesn't translate as well to a plush. For a pillow, you can just print official character art right on without any uncanny valley stuff. o: Plus, I like seeing some doujin artists' fanart on them too. |

Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide Haha, I actually have a dakimakura, not because I wanted to cuddle with something specifically, just because I REALLLLY wanted something of Len Kagamine. So, I could either choose a) A somewhat decent looking figurine that would cost me $150+ b) a really bad looking plushie that looks like something I could make even though it still costs me $20+ c) OR a really well drawn body pillow that actually is super great quality and it's only like $25 Naturally, I went with the body pillow because I loved the artwork by the artist and I was really happy about it! D: I honestly just don't get why these things are so looked down upon. |
