Therefore the legislation that they impose puts the masses beyond their financial means. I'm not saying that they do it conciously(in most cases) They just think "i'm doing well, so everyone is doing well". In the end the people are forced to live close to the edge of their financial means. Things that used to be luxurys have become nessecities. I'm not talkin cell phones and gaming consoles here , but I know I can build a house a lot cheaper if I wasn't constrained by building codes that were legislated by the rich.
